Market Monitor All Sports Pro

Market Monitor All Sports Pro  is a software application for use on all sports on Betfair. The product has been designed specifically to trade in-play markets and can be applied to any sports that go in-play, eg horse racing, tennis, football, etc.

Market Monitor is fairly new on the market. Currently, the sale price is reduced by 50% and is available at £147.00. This is a one-price with free updates. There is a 3-day trial offer.

The software has many features built into it. The manual that appears within the “help” function is a good starting point. An important feature is the ability to green up whilst in-play; there are various settings that you can opt for. Additional features include the setting of the minimum and maximum back and lay stakes, as well as, the choice of the layout of the screen.

There are various strategies that Market Monitor can be used for, including backing, laying or trading. In horse racing, this applies to both the win only and the place markets.The software allows you to place your bets before the start of the event, as well as, during it.

I shall be using the software for a minimum of 30 days. In that time, I shall be using it on horse racing and will concentrate on the win only market. I will use the minimum £2 stakes and start with a bank of £50.

Final Review

I ran the trial of Market Monitor All Sports Pro over a five day period, covering just over 100 races. This was more than enough to experience the functionality of the software.

Market Monitor All Sports Pro does what it says on the tin. The main attraction for me was the visual display of the in-play odds, and the software delivered on this point. Using this function, I was able to back, lay and green up on any selection in-play (naturally subject to the order being matched on Betfair). I was also able to place an order prior to the start of the race and trade it out in-running. This mirrors what you can do on the Betfair interface itself.

Market Monitor All Sports Pro also allows you three different methods of greening up. The three settings gives you the choice of how you want to trade out and is presented in a thoughtful way. These were tried out and no glitches were encountered.

The additional features of using different styles of display of the screen itself  so that you select what you find visually suitable to you is great. And the ability to adjust your stakes also all worked well and is a standard feature you would expect. I was able to move any particular market so that it sat next to the same market using another application. With this, I was able to compare how fast the prices were changing on both applications. Nothing untoward was noted. The software was also able to pick up any bets placed of it, eg placed using the normal Betfair interface. This was useful as I could offset that trade using Market Monitor All Sports Pro.

Market Monitor All Sports Pro like all new software takes a bit of getting used to. But not long. I was able to read the manual and set it up pretty quickly. Every now and again I would tinker with the settings such as row height or moving the screen next to another application. I found it easy to use and could not fault its performance.

My criticisms, which can also be construed as recommendations to the developers of the software, are that the alarm function should be extended to when the race itself starts. This is something I have got accustomed to using Fairbot and I find it invaluable.

Additionally, I would have welcomed the ability of the application to export the results. I could not copy and paste the results to say, Excel. And once you log out of the system part way during the day, you cannot get back these results should you log back in later in the day. But please note, that these are minor issues.

As for the whether it is value for money, I tend to make a comparison with my preferred weapon of choice, namely Fairbot. The major feature that Market Monitor All Sports Pro has over Fairbot is the visual representation of the in-play odds. Given that Market Monitor All Sports Pro retails at more than four times Fairbot, it would be worth the differential if I was a serious in-play player.

Overall, I have to say that Market Monitor All Sports Pro is a very good application that delivers. I have not come across any other software that presents the in-play odds like it does. If you prefer in-play action, then at least taking the 3-day trial is recommended.

Market Monitor All Sports Pro Review – Day 4 Thu 19/05/2011

Covered 20 races today. Bad day, as had 2 reversals of maximum of £50. These were selections that drifted out in-play (one as far as into the 40′s), only to roar back to win! It is all about the timing, I feel. This is something that one cannot learn by reading alone, it needs to be practised.

Also, I have to say that my experience today left me very dismayed. Though I must stress there is nothing I can blame the software for. It does what it says on the tin.

What it boils down to is the vagaries of the prices on Betfair in-play  horse race win only market- specifically the huge spread between the back and lay. What today confirmed for me is something I had long held, which is, that these prices do not reflect accurately in terms of value of what is actually happening on the field itself. By way of example, a horse can drift out to 20′s or 30′s ,etc – this gives the impression that it has a small chance of winning – in reality, it could only be a length away from the current leader. And often, it goes on to win.

FairBot is incredibly easy to operate and, as Tony said again, it isn’t as daunting to the newbie as the likes of Bet Angel or Bet Trader. Unless you’ve been living under a stone for the last few years you’ll surely be aware of Betfair. This is a free desktop application that offers quick access to the betting markets, customizable shortcuts and betting with fewer clicks. Personally I prefer to use commercial products like Bet Angel Pro for my betting, but this is quite a neat tool if you don’t currently have that.

4 – Victor The Predictor

If you bet on soccer matches this excellent software will give you an insight into the true odds you should be backing or laying at based on the historical data of the participating teams. It uses the latest Machine Learning techniques with Neural Nets to come up with accurate predictions.

5 – Betfair Advantage Tool

This is my all-time favourite, but the problem is that it’s only for Australian customers. What they’ve done here is combine the Betfair markets with live odds from the AU TAB system and then they’ve included a fantastic Timeform-style form guide. Roll on the UK version!

You can keep up-to-date on the latest developments in the Betfair Labs section of their website and I’d recommend checking in from time to time, because there’s some good stuff in there that can make your betting experience a whole lot easier and (hopefully) more profitable.

The Betfair Developers Program

Something else Betfair have done that truly sets them apart from every other betting company in the world is start their own “Developers Program” where they actively encourage developers to build applications that interact with the Betfair website. This enables users to bet in ways that were never possible before and I can honestly say that it’s changed the way I bet for good.

Here are some of the most popular (and profitable) innovations they’ve released:

6 - Grey Horse Bot

This is THE software I simply can’t do without nowadays. It’s a fully automatic betting bot that comes packed with features for profitable betting on auto-pilot. You can set it up in the morning, leave it to run all day and check back later to see how much you’ve earned. It’s excellent!

7 - Value Horse Finder

VHF is a sophisticated software application that monitors the betting markets on Betfair and compares this with the odds on offer with the bookmakers to highlight when there are profitable discrepancies to be had. Bet-IE is a horse racing dutching application with a big difference. Not only does this outstanding software enable you to calculate the stakes for your dutch bets and submit them with ease, but it also comes with a VERY cool live indicator that tells you exactly which horses you should bet on and when you should bet. Following this information alone is extremely profitable!

10 - Soccer Mystic

Imagine looking at a soccer match and knowing exactly what will happen to the odds, how they will move and where to place your trades before the match has started, or even in-play. This new software from the team at Bet Angel Pro enables you to model every soccer match with pinpoint accuracy and then structure your bets to force maximum profits out of the market.

Of course, this is only a small selection of the betting software that’s available to you nowadays, but what I’ve listed here are tools that I’ve used personally and they should give you a good idea of the diverse range of (largely automated) tasks you can now perform with the betting tools and software that have been created since the inception of Betfair’s developer program.

How To Profit From Greyhounds & Horses On Betfair Virtually Everyday

Automatic betting is the holy grail to many punters nowadays. You get up in the morning, spend a few minutes firing up your bot and adding your selections for the day, then leave it to chug away making money for you all day long while you’re at work, on the golf course, or doing anything else you fancy.

Of course, you do still need a successful selection process in order to profit from anything, but there are a lot of neat tricks you can do with betting bots that you can’t do so easily when betting manually. For example… loss recovery, cycle betting, dutching, hedging and trading can all be performed with betting bots. This might sound a bit irresponsible to some of you, but I had Lay Bot Pro up and running and placing live wagers on Betfair just 5 minutes after downloading it… before I even read the manual!

I wouldn’t recommend that any of you follow my lead and start it betting for you without first reading the manual, but it really is as simple as loading your races and setting the conditions for how your bets should be placed using the options section on the right of the screen. A Super-Cool Innovation For Trading On Australian Horse Racing

If you’re one of our (steadily growing) Australian audience, I’ve got a special treat for you today. Not a lot of people know about Betfair’s Development Lab, mainly because it’s hidden away in the “Extras” section of their website, but there are a lot of neat tools in this section and one of the best, from what I’ve seen, is a very slick free software application for Australian horse racing.

What Betfair have done here is integrate their own betting markets with live odds from the Australian TAB system and to round it off they’ve even added in a Timeform-style horse racing form reader, so you can compare Betfair’s odds with the current odds on the TAB and then you can check the form of each runner with one click too. This software is the absolute business for combining your form analysis with live one-click trading and my only regret is that they haven’t done the same thing for UK racing, not yet anyway!

The Betfair Advantage Tool is an excellent – completely free – application that gives you more power from one single interface than almost any application I’ve ever seen for the UK markets. If you bet on Australian horse racing then I’d highly recommend you download it and give it a try.

How To Earn A Surefire Profit On Every Single Race!

We’d all love to place a bet and know that no matter what the outcome we’d make money. There are a couple of ways to do this. The first is known as arbitrage — this is when you place a bet on all outcomes of a race in such a way that you’re guaranteed a profit. It sounds great in theory, but it isn’t as easy as it sounds because the markets can change very quickly and the returns can be very small (1-2%).

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be looking to make much better returns from your investments, which leads me on to the second method. There is a smart piece of software that’s been on the market for a number of years now, and by all accounts continues to perform well, known as Cash Master.

Using this method can increase your stakes dramatically on a losing run and can get the heart pumping at a fair rate as your betting account takes a nose dive, however, with sensible money management and a level head, this method can actually be very successful too.

If you are disciplined and use a sensible betting bank, Cash Master might be worth a go, but keep in mind that it is a progressive staking system, so you may need nerves of steel!

Ask any punter to name you a betting software product and chances are the words Bet Angel will be the first thing they mention. It’s no surprise really as it’s the most widely known of the betting software available on the market today, but there are other sophisticated trading programs out there to rival it nowadays and undoubtedly one of the best of these is an application called BetTrader.

I really don’t think I can stress how much value Adam is offering here. He’s designed these pricing plans, not only to fit with everyone’s budget, but also with their trading style. If you can only bet at weekends for example, you might only need the 200 minutes, but if you plan to become a full-time trader, you can buy a full year of unlimited use. It’s a flexible pricing structure with an option that should be suitable for everyone.

Personally, I think BetTrader is more user friendly than the likes of Bet Angel Pro, which although a fantastic product, can be a little daunting – especially to those starting out. And if you are just starting out in the wonderful world of trading, BetTrader has something else to help you ‘bed in’…

The big time traders will be trading in units of £100, £200 even £500 and £1000 but when you’re just starting out, you won’t want to be doing that, so you can actually start testing your trades (or your own system ideas) using 1p stakes. Yup, you read that right – just 1 pence stakes! No more of this Betfair £2 minimum, you can learn your trading with the safest possible stakes. It really doesn’t get much better than this!
