Double Lay or Double Dutch?
The Double Lay Preview is an ebook with an optional tipping service.
The authors, Jon and Sally have operated Double Lay for over 2 years without any changes, which is a testament to the potential relaibility of the system.
Double Lay is a lay system for Horse Racing in the UK, using some simple indicators to identify your bet. It is the type of system you will read and think “this is too simple”, I must have missed something, but you would be wrong, it is actually that simple! I don’t want to go into the system too much in case I give it away, but you will need access to two sources:
1. The Sun or Sporting Life
2. The Racing Post (the betting forecast information, which is free after 9am)
Using these, the system steers you to make a list of potential qualifiers, the final selection being as close to the off as possible based on industry odds.
The costs of the Double Lay System are £95 with a £10 PCM membership subscription if users prefer to have the selections found for them and have access to Strike Rates, What Days, Results etc etc
The bets are placed just before the off or in-play (to get better odds the author states)
I will be tesing for 45 days to level stakes of £10. The authors suggest starting with a betting bank of 100 points, so in this case i will be starting with £1000. Each day’s selections will be listed to Betfair SP and will assume Betfair commision of 5%.
For the purpose of the trial, the selections will be emailed to me.

17 selections were identified today, which I recevied at 11:56.
In every email sent, there is a breif history of past betting which is a useful read, I will add these to each post.
Kempton AW evening 79% -£1657 143 bets 30 lost, Lingfield AW afternoon 84% £3375 149 bets 24 lost, Newbury 82% £525 67 bets 12 lost, Newcastle 89% £3807 74 bets 8 lost.
Wednesday has produced poor profit and Kempton AW on a Wednesday evening has given us very poor results indeed.
The average losing bet at Kempton is 11/2. The other courses show reasonable returns but as always these can be improved by laying in running.

Todays courses have good SR’s and profit but to ensure more profit (less loss) in running laying at lower prices is recommended when odds are above 5.0 BSP where possible.
In 5/6 furlong races this not as easy as longer trips of 7 furlongs or more”

“Wetherby NH 91% £1445 23 bets 2 lost, Kempton AW afternoon 62 bets 6 lost 90% £3029, Wolverhampton AW afternoon 81% 95 bets 18 lost -£703.
Monday has given us good profit as have Wetherby and Kempton AW afternoon. It’s interesting to note that Wolverhampton does better in the evening with a profit diffrence of £3.5k+ but only an SR of 3% more, whilst Kempton AW afternoon does far better than in the evening with a profit difference of £4.5+ and an SR difference of 11%”.

The system comes with clear and concise instructions and consequently it is relatively easy to arrive at the day’s basic selections, although, as previously stated, if you don’t want to do this yourself the authors will provide a “Daily Sheet” for £10 per month. From these “basic” selections one needs to have access to the “live” betting shows to arrive at the actual qualifiers and then the ability to “lay” them on a betting exchange. For anyone not able to do this then the system may not be for you.
Throughout the trial I have included all qualifiers but in the manual the authors include a section on limiting bets to a maximum price of 4/1. I have looked at this and it would have produced ninety-six qualifiers resulting in twenty-two losers and seventy-four winners giving a profit of £146.00. They also advocate betting “in running” but exploring this would have been too time consuming for me, although I have done some checking and found that thirty of the winners could have been laid at less than 2.0, one touching as low as 1.09. More research would be needed to decide at what level to set the parameters as too low would knock out too many winning bets but would not reduce the number of losers.
Also mentioned in the manual is the possibility of using a staking plan, although none is recommended and I have not explored this aspect. During the trial the Longest Winning Run was twenty-five while the Longest Losing Run was three so it is possible that one can be found to capitalise on sequences such as this.
Overall I feel that the system lived up to it’s promise, although it was sometimes a bit of a roller-coaster ride, due to the high prices of some of the lays, and may not be for the more faint-hearted punter. This said there are options for specialisation as the manual includes individual strike rates for each track and, under the heading “What Days”, each day of the week. Based on these statistics the authors specifically warn against operating at Kempton on a Wednesday evening and this has been borne out during the trial – ten qualifiers emerged resulting in three losers and seven winners with a nett loss of £73.10 (ommitting these from the overall figures would have increased the profit by 25%)
To sum up – I feel the system is based on sound reasoning and will produce steady profits, whilst affording the scope to increase them with individual specialisation and at the price of £95 could prove a sound investment.
