Dutching Diamond System Review

The Dutching Diamond System is a backing and dutching system for certain races on any card.

It is delivered as an eBook in standard PDF format.

The cost of the system is a one-off price of £95

A betting bank of 1000 points is suggested. This may be 25p/point i.e.£250 but for this trial I am going to use £1.00/point

The Dutching Diamond rules for finding those races are a little complicated and the system requires the use of a Racing Post paper daily

The information cannot be found in the on-line version of the Racing Post

The system is suitable for intermediate backers but as with all systems will become easier with use

The use of a simple Dutching software programme will simplify the staking calculations

This system will be reviewed for 45 days

Horses will be backed as close to the ‘off’ as possible and Betfair prices will be used to calculate the results

No qualifying selections – when can we have some NH racing?

Dutching DiamondDay 7

At last a bet! – Reve de Sivola wins the first at Cheltenham to give us 10.09 points profit – Bank stands at £1018.78

Dutching DiamondDay 8

Today we had 4 opportunities to bet (indeed but for another race throwing up a slight odds on selection – which won – we would have had 5 opportunities – races with odds on selections are ignored) and they all produced winners. This added 36.47 points to the bank. So far there have been 6 bets, all of which have won, but we should not get too excited. On 2 of the races today we would have been placing at least 9% of the bank (90 points). A single loser there would have thrust us into a loss situation.

- Bank stands at £1055.25

Technically there were 2 qualifying races today but one of these required total stakes of 370 points to be placed as the prices were such that this stake was needed to make our target profit of 10 points. Hence I am going to disregard that race despite the fact that it was a winning one for us. I am sure that no one would want to risk 37% of the bank on the outcome of a single race and I intend to make it a rule that we will not risk more than 10% of the bank on any one race (even this may be high but no instructions are given in the eBook rules on this point). The other race was also a winner and we made a profit of 10.00 points – Bank now £1005.92

As it is now Dec 31st a Happy New Year to all!

Dutching DiamondDay 29

One winning race and one losing one today resulting in a small loss of 0.32 points – Bank stands at £1005.60

Dutching DiamondDay 30

Three out of three winning races today – a good day for the system – resulting in a profit of 30.6 points – Bank stands at £1036.20

Dutching Diamond – Day 45 (17th January 2011)

The first bet of the day is a winning race giving 10.18 points profit but the second one (1.25 Fakenham) gives a massive loss of 50 points. There are still 3 possible races to go but this is the kind of difficulty that I have been concerned about having watched some of the races over the last 6 weeks. The risk is far too great in some races. Let’s see what the rest of the afternoon brings.

3 further races all produced profits of 10.3, 10.01 and 10.1 points respectively so the situation was recovered somewhat.

Bank stands at £1066.76.

——————————————————-

This trial has now been completed. It was due to run over a period of 45 days and, whilst there was considerable disruption to racing during the freezing weather, 31 qualifying races were reviewed resulting in a profit of £66.76 which is 66.76 points. This could be £667.60 or even £6676.00 depending on the size of your bank. However I used a bank of £1000 and for the latter you would need a bank of £10,000 to achieve this £667.00 return. Hence the system is not for me. It is said to produce a profit of 1 point per race and the current trial has produced more than 2 points per race so we have outperformed the claim but the liability during this period was considerable – between 15 – 100 points per race would have been staked – say 1200 points to win 67 points. This is the drawback to the system and if you were to start when a losing bet occurred then it could easily put you off if you had lost 50 – 100 points right away. So the main disadvantage of the system is that it is ‘lumpy’ in that it can have wild swings, mainly downwards (I set myself to win 10 points per race and I may have lost up to 100 points using the maximum stake that I set myself). I would like to see something written about maximum stakes in the manual that is supplied.

In terms of its advantages the instructions are quite well written and the selections are easily found after a couple of days trialling. It does produce a profit – greater than expected (more than twice the  expected level) over the trial period but it is important to stick to a staking plan and to have a large enough bank initially – and to keep your nerve when you’ve placed £100/100 points on a novice chase when the favourite falls! If this were to replicate throughout the year then you could make 550 points which is very good. On my stake and bank that is £550 which for an initial price of £95 for the ebook is perhaps adequate. One other point to make is that it throws up many winning bets – 24 winning races from the 31 reviewed. Some systems would cost far in excess of this and not deliver the goods.

Allowing for the above disadvantages I would place it in the ‘good’ category
