False Favourites
The Ultimate Guide To Laying Low-Priced Favourites Who Lose!
There seems to have been an explosion of laying systems over the last few months. They are appearing everywhere and new ones are being churned out on a daily basis. Unfortunately, most of them are useless rubbish, written by some half-wit with only one intention – to pull in money from the unsuspecting punter using nothing more than a snazzy website and wild claims of life changing wealth and riches. Some of them will have just three rules, some will have fifteen, but the majority we come across fall well short of the mark.
A lot of people believe that laying is an easy game, after all how difficult can it be to find a loser, right?
Wrong! Laying is a difficult game and there aren’t many systems that produce the goods consistently. It’s a game that’s fraught with dangers… that 12/1 outsider (that you’ve had to lay at nearer to 16/1) who doesn’t have a chance, but somehow gets up on the line and takes with it all of your previous profit and then some. And it will happen much more than you think!
It’s not all doom and gloom, however, because there is a way to make a decent living from laying horses, especially if you concentrate on low priced favourites. There is only one way to do this successfully and that is to do your homework! It is definitely possible to make a comfortable living from laying favourites, in fact that’s where the majority of my betting income comes from, but you must know what you are doing and, unfortunately, there are no real short-cuts.
So, the best way to learn how to do this successfully is to listen to someone who has been there, done that and worn the T-Shirt. In my opinion, one of the best laying courses available on the Internet today is False Favourites, which comes with 216 pages of sheer gold. It’s written by a Betfair Accredited Trainer, Jonathan Burgess, and it’s clear from the start that this is someone who knows what he’s talking about.
Right from the word go, Jonathan makes sure you are aware this is no walk in the park, you won’t retire overnight, in fact the results on Jonathan’s website show he is making around 10-15 points profit per month, not an outrageous claim by any means. So with £50 stakes you’d be profiting by £500 – £750, £100 stakes you’d be banking £1000 – £1500 a month. I think this is one of the reasons I really admire Jonathan, he is totally upfront, he won’t insult your intelligence with ridiculous claims and hype. What he is offering you is the chance to learn how to make a consistent and relatively safe income by betting on horses to lose.
False Favourites is split into two books, the first deals with all the ins and outs of National Hunt racing, starting at the basics of opening your Betfair account, discussing why favourites lose and taking you step by step right the way through to the selection method. And this isn’t just a page of how to choose your selection, this is 30 pages of the most useful ‘how to’ I have read in a long, long time! The selection process is then followed up with 20 pages of examples to help you understand exactly how Jonathan makes his picks.
The second book deals with laying on the Flat and is just as detailed as book one, providing you with a wealth of information and numerous examples to ensure you understand the methodology and theory behind it all.
Now, I know this isn’t going to make pleasant reading for those of you who are searching for a “get rich quick” solution, but here at Online Betting Exposed we aim to bring the best of products to your attention, not the ones that make unrealistic claims and fail to deliver, and I would defy anyone to pay the £27.99 for this fantastic product and not to be absolutely delighted with your purchase. It really is that good.

Hi, a question from an Australian. What is National Hunt races and on the Flat races.?
Can Jonathan’s system be used for Australian Races as well?
Thank you. Rhonda
Hi Rhonda,
National Hunt Racing is basically anything over the jumps, and Flat Racing is just racing without jumps, normally short races but can be up to 2 miles.
I can see no reason False Favourites wouldn’t work on Australian racing as it’s really a complete guide of how to identify favourites that really shouldn’t be.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned that “False Favourites” is a blatant copy of Kris Jackman’s “Racing Secrets Exposed”.
The format and content is the same in both publications; False Favourites has been re-written by Jonathan Burgess to try and make it look original.
That said both are very good publications. False Favourites has expanded on some of the information contained in Racing Secrets Exposed to give extra factors to consider.
So what one to buy? Well, at £20 for False Favourites as opposed to £50 for Racing Secrets Exposed, the choice is obvious. Get it while you can before Kris Jackman sues Jonathan Burgess for copyright theft !!!
Hi is this a sit in front of your PC system or can the selectionss be picked before racing starts.
Great site thank you for your help.
@ Scott – I don’t know which came first, but I do know who Jon Burgess is and I’d trust his judgement. I thought both were very good, but if I was to choose one over the other then yes I’d definitely side with you and go for FF. I thought it was excellent.
@ Alan – no, you don’t need to sit in front of the PC for this. It’s an excellent guide that shows you what to look for when you’re after short priced runners that almost always lose. I really do like Jon’s guide – it’s one of the best I’ve seen for the money.
Paul, I have to say I agree with your point about the FF and it is excellent ebook. They making me feel like a pro punters and I have been practice myself on paper trading. So far, 8 won and three lost but I am sure I will get better and better soon. It is very easy to learn. Anyone can do it if you are patience. It need to take time to practice.
All I say that FF is the most sensible ebook I ever read and Jon B have not insult my intelligence. He is showing me what he do and I assumed he is honest guy!
Well done Jonathan Burgess….:)
Jono
Hi, I am interested in the above book and would like to know if the required form study can be done here in Australia, basically would a user require UK newspaper form or similair? Over the years I have seen some methods that are quite ambiguous when it comes to the actual selection process, would users of this method arrive (if used right) all come up with the same selection?
Thanks – John.
Hi John,
All you would need for this is access to the online version of the Racing Post or one of the other UK form guides. This isn’t a system in the traditional sense – Jon is an accredited Betfair trainer and his guide teaches you how to find weak looking favourites, horses with weak profiles.
It’s the kind of information you can take away and use for life, rather than something that’s only likely to work in the short-term. It’s really very good.
~ Paul
Hi Paul some systems are amboguos with different people getting different selections, how easy would it be to duplicate the authors selections.
Thanks for your help.
Alan
Hi Alan,
Like I say, this isn’t really a system – you run through a checklist of things that highlight weaknesses in the runners, so I suppose there could be room for error if you read something differently to someone else, but it would be difficult to do. Both Craig and I have read the book, we use the same criteria daily and we generally always come up with the same selections.
I think Craig summed this up very well in his review. The author isn’t trying to fool anyone with sensational claims or fancy staking plans. It’s effectively a proper course on how to succeed as a professional layer and as I said earlier, I’m sure you could easily use the information you’ll learn from it for life.

I purchased False Favourites yesterday. It’s got some of the best info I’ve seen. It’s 5.30 in the morning and I haven’t been able to put it down
I’m pleased to hear you like it James!
I’ve had some cracking results from this lately. What I’ve found is that it doesn’t only point you in the direction of runners to lose: it also helps you to find weaknesses in runners you might have been thinking about backing. That’s proved very useful for me.
Yes I agree with you Jim….
I would say that False Fav is the best ebook course than anywhere else. That put me to number one favourite things!
Cheers,
Jono
I have never seen so much information for such a small payment. In fact I’m amazed at what Jonathan has put together.
My husband is normally a sceptical man but after reading it he got straight to work finding weak favourites. 12 bets later and he’s managed 10 successful bets with 2 winners both coming in at 6/4, I think he might be converted
which one produces more profit FF or FTW?
Well, it’s totally different strategy on these 2 systems…
and past results doesn’t guarantee future profit.
Both are good system….
Nicky,
Both are different products.
FTW is more exciting but with staking plan. It can be risk at anytime but making good profits in the long run. Joe is an excellent support. If you want to make a quick money then FTW is for you!
FF is the sensible plan and you will learn lot of things in Racing post. It need research first before you start to bet on one of the horse. It will make your time slowly and build up your profits. Jonathan Burgess is an betfair accreditor and also excellent support. If you want to be slow making profits then FF is for you!
Hope it all help you!,
Jono
how many horses can you expect to find per day or week, after reading the book, can you go through the form the night before and choose your picks?
cheers lee
thank you sounds ok i guess but u can neva %100 trust a individual way so i guess having more than one system fomula or principle is betta than having 1.
Nicky,
I have both products and I do know what is like.
I would suggest FF is a good for your learning opportunity and can make you become a professional punters. It need take time to research from 30 min to one hour a day.
FTW is different, just quick work for ten mins and bet it quickly.
Good Luck to you!
Jono
Lee,
It depends on the horse selection….but I am here to give you roughly…
FTW – It is all variety – Some days none – I would say 1 to 6 selections in some days. Yes you can go the form on the night before.
FF – There are about 4 selections if you think the horse will lose. Then pick one only everyday expect Sunday. It would be suitable to research the night (Or morning) before you bet on the next day.
Good Luck…
Jono
The thing about False Favourites is that it isn’t just a system. It’s a complete education on how to operate as a professional layer and you aren’t only limited to using it for the favourites system he covers in the book – you could actually take what you’ve learned and apply the same principles to every horse in a race, so you’ll always know what to lay and what to play.
Even if you back horses to win you could follow the False Favourites guidelines and run through the same things on the horses you’re thinking about backing to spot any weaknesses in them.
So I wouldn’t like to call it a system, because I really think that undermines the knowledge you’ll gain from it. With a bit of imagination you could use it in a lot of different (profitable) ways.
Is False Favourites still in business? I notice that their website is no longer publishing results. For me this is always a bad sign but I might be mistaken. Does anyone have any up to date feedback or results they would like to produce? Thanks. Tim
There wouldn’t be any point in publishing results for this Tim as it’s a full-blown betting exchange laying course, not a typical system. It would be doing this a disservice to call it a system.
He’s very much still in business. Check Betfair’s list of accredited trainers – Jonathan’s very active with that and very well respected by Betfair and in the industry on the whole.
Thank You all youve all been helpful. Is FF useful for sunday.
can you send me the link for FF result page please
The results link is in the main headline area on the False Favourites website Nicky. Right next to it you’ll see “Check out the fantastic results my system has produced during 2007-2008 so far..”
Ah, I didn’t know that existed. Nice results!
thank you Craig but i did mean the results of your testing FF. Sorry for not being accurate.
(i don’t believe in system nor method but without system without method whats too teach?)
We didn’t run a system test on this Nicky, because as I’ve said many times on here already….. it’s a complete COURSE….. not just a system. You’ll learn a lot more from this than you would from purchasing any system I’ve ever seen.
juset Checked out the results thank you. How many selections do you guys on average get using FF?
Nicky, just look at the results. If you want to follow the system Jonathan discusses then you’ll have the same number of selections as him.
thank you Paul. Thought it would of been a good idea too run a result for people too see. Yeh thats true i believe one can learn alot reading and applying FF where necessary too create decent profits.
There isn’t any need to run a system test for this Nicky – what you see is what you get with Jonathan Burgess. The guy knows his stuff and his course is excellent.
you told me too follow his system he mentions in FF. Do you follow his system?
Yes I do and I follow some of the other things he covers in the course to find weaknesses (and strengths actually) in a lot of other runners too.
Thank you Paul For being helpful. Cheers
do u use it for trading Paul if so what trading software do you use it on?
I don’t use this for trading Nicky. When I am trading I use Bet Angel Pro, but to be honest with you that’s more through habit these days. From what I’ve seen Fairbot will do almost everything the majority of people will need and it’s a fraction of the cost too. You can try a trial of both applications to see what suits you best though.
Ive had a trial of fairbot and i dont know how too trade using that and im currently on a trial of bet angel and i dont know how too trade using that either i always end up out of profit. Any tips?
Neither Fairbot nor Bet Angel nor any other tool can win for you.
They are just tools – nothing more.
You need to find out or work out or purchase some working / viable strategies, then these tools will ease / enable to implement them.
No tips, sorry.
I just purchase False Favourites guide two days past. It fantastic, best, best, laying guide I read.
Apology for my poor English. I wished to thank you for referring!
Best wishes from Italy.
Antonio
Thanks for your feedback Antonio! We’ve had many people say how much they liked this one, so I’m sure you’ll be pleased with your purchase

Leo

Craig
Are False Favourites and Racing Secrets exposed pretty much the same systems? I dont have either but from the info on them that ive read, i get the feeling they are similar courses.
Would you recomend one of them over the other or are they equally good
Thanks
@Jimmy – Yeah, they are pretty similar. If I were to recommend one over the other it’d be False Favourites. It’s probably slightly more comprehensive than RSE, and costs a fraction of the price
