How To Rocket Your Betting Profits
Anyone who’s been involved in betting for a while will know the following scenario all too well. You get up on a Saturday morning, nip out to get the racing papers and have a read through them over a morning coffee. There are a few races you really like the look of today – you know it’s gonna be a good day!
So the first race comes around and you like the second favourite, it’s up against an odds-on shot, but the second favourite offers much better value and sure enough it does the business in some style, at the tasty odds of 4/1. £200 profit on race one – it’s gonna be a good day!
The next race you like comes round and this time it’s the favourite you fancy to put some more money in your pocket. £50 on to win and it just gets pipped on the line. You’re still £150 up, so no need to worry about this little setback - it’s gonna be a good day!
There are two more races you like the look of and now you’re going with a bit of an outside chance. The first two in the betting are hot, but this nag has never let you down before…until today. Your fancy gets stuffed, but you’re still £100 to the good and then there’s the short priced favourite in the next to come – it’s still gonna be a good day!
This is the banker bet of the day, it’s short at around 8/11 but there’s no way it’ll get beat. £50 on isn’t going to return much, £75 is better and that way you’ll still be left with a profit of £25 should the unthinkable happen. Coming to the last, clear of the field, the favourite stumbles through it and unseats the rider… gutted… it had been a good day!
Now you’re left with that sinking (or sunk) feeling in the pit of your stomach. You’d been £200 better off at the beginning of the day, now you’re still in profit, but not by nearly as much!
So, when should you have stopped? At the first winner? Or the first loser maybe? And did you really stake those horses correctly? The honest answer is that until you start tracking, testing and staking properly you’ll never know what to do in any given situation.
If you’re a system follower, personally I’d suggest that you stick with each and every qualifying bet (assuming the system has stood the test of time). And if you’re a form follower, to be honest, it’s really up to you, but one thing is for sure – you absolutely must test, test, test!
As you’ve probably guessed from reading through our website, I test a lot of systems myself and for the purposes of publishing accurate data about each system I always follow the rules they specify exactly. But, another thing I do is track every bet I place using this software….
It’s called The Staking Machine and what this allows me to do is (a) keep track of all my bets with ease, (b) test how the systems compare against each other, and (c) test how the qualifiers would have performed using different types of staking plans. The software comes with over two dozen staking plans and testing one against the other is as simple as clicking a button.
It works with back bets, lay bets, each-way bets, even dutch bets, and it provides you with an instant graphical comparison (amongst other reports) of how well you’re doing at the present time, how well you would be doing if you adopted a different staking system, and even how you can maximise your profits and return on investment by making some simple changes.
I won’t be the first person to tell you that you absolutely must track and test your bets, but doing it manually or even with spreadsheets is such a pain in the butt that almost no-one keeps it up for any length of time. That’s no longer the case with this, because it’s actually a pleasure doing it with The Staking Machine and the difference it makes to your bottomline is incredible.
Go try the demo version now and you’ll see why I recommend this so highly. If you aren’t utterly gobsmacked by what it can do for you, I swear I’ll be genuinely surprised!

Great advice again Craig! Are you the angry man in the photo by any chance?
Just tried the demo and all I can say is WOW!
This is very impressive!
I’m obviously not the only one up at 2am on a Sunday morning. I agree with Jim – I just got your email and that was a nice call Craig. I’ll look at it properly tomorrow.
Hi Craig,
I love this! Can you tell me if you’ve tried importing the Racing Index tipster bets?
Cheers,
Davey
Davey, I’ve tried that with it before. I haven’t looked at any of them very closely if I’m honest with you, but the feature is there in the software if you want to use it.
Jim, ha ha I am NOT that angry man – but I have been known to do a similar impression!
As for The Staking Machine – the demo is a great introduction, but the full version really is a must have! I wouldn’t be without it now.
I just spent 4 glorious hours playing with this tonight. What a cracking piece of kit! I never knew stuff like this even existed!
It’s excellent, isn’t it Mark? It’s one of the best betting software type apps I’ve ever tried and it just keeps getting better all the time. They improve it almost every month.
The Staking Machine guys have just released a new version with a bunch of additional features, including each-way betting. It’s worth checking out the demo if you haven’t already.
