Little Acorns Review

Little Acorns is described by the vendor as a low-liabilty laying system and is available at £97 direct from the website.  I have been conducting this trial for seventeen days now although, almost certainly due to the weather, there have been bets on only eight of these days. It is relatively easy to operate, there being three main rules to arrive at the basic selections, with another “filter” to give what the vendor terms as “Extra Selections”. Access to two betting related web sites is needed, but both are free. The vendor advises that selections can be made at two seperate times during the day, in the morning  and 10/15 minutes before a race. I was able to do both but only found two extra selections (a winner and a loser) at the latter time so looking only once is not detrimental to the end results .

 The vendor advises placing your bets 10/15 mins prior to the off but states profits will be made even if placing them at the time of selection in the morning. Consequently I have detailed below the profits at each time and also Betfair SP, all to £10. 

Laying Little Acorns at 10.30 (A) there was a profit of £6.70: Laying 10 mins before the off (B) the profit was £8.60 and at Betfair SP (C) produced a profit of £11.90 

The vendor also recommends a staking plan for Little Acorns which has produced profits of: 

category (A) £26.20, (B) £27.00 and (C) £29.70. 

While this has enhanced profits in this sequence a protracted losing run could test your bank  (at the ninth loser the stake would be £340) and possibly your resolve. 

After the final day of this trial of the Little Acorns System a summary of the results is as follows. 

The trial lasted sixty days, although (almost certainly due to the adverse weather conditions that decimated turf racing for half that period) there were no bets on twenty-six of the days. The remaining days produced between one and four selections (only once) giving a total of forty-nine. Results could not have been more evenly divided – with twenty-four winning bets and twenty-five losing bets. 

As previously outlined I recorded the results according to prices taken at three different times and the outcome is as follows. 

Level Stakes 

(A) bets laid at the time of original selection produced a profit £43.30 giving a return on investment of 11.06%. 

(B) bets laid 10/15 minutes prior to the “off” produced a profit of £50.90 giving a ROI of 13.15%. 

(C) bets laid at Betfair SP produced a profit of £49.20 giving a ROI of 12.56% 

Staking Plan 

(A) bets laid at the time of original selection produced a profit of £129.70 giving a ROI of 21.94%. 

(B) bets laid 10/15 minutes prior to the “off” produced a profit of £140.40 giving a ROI of 23.95% 

(C) bets laid at Betfair SP produced a profit of £135.80 giving a ROI of 22.65%. 

As to the filtered “Extra Selections” – there were only three indicated (two losers and a winner) leaving me unable to form any definite conclusions. 

During the trial the longest run of winning bets was seven while the longest run of losing bets was four (three times). 

Using the staking plan the highest stakes (after four losers) was 5pts but for a more protracted losing run the stakes start to rise dramatically (eg after eight losers the stake on the ninth selection would be 34pts) and this might test one’s heart and resolve. 

At £97 I feel the system might be a little expensive but (during the trial) it has proved to be a winner and if you are happy posting slow but steady profits I would recommend it

Little Acorns System – w/e 25.12.2010 

Apologies for the delay in posting this update – for w/e 25.12.2010. It was a quiet week, with racing taking place on three days only, with selections (two) only on Wednesday. These resulted in one winning bet and one losing bet (laid @ 1.96) giving a very small profit of 40 pence in every circumstance. 

This now gives us cumulative profits at level stakes of (A) £7.10, (B) £9.00 and (C) £12.30. 

The staking plan profits rose by the same amounts to: (A) £26.60, (B) £27.40 and (C) £30.10.

Sorry for the delay in providing this update – covering the period Dec26th2010 to Jan 4th 2011 inc. There have only been six selections during this period – the results being equally divided (3wins, 3 losses). 

This resulted in a profit (to £10 level stakes) in all three categories viz: Category (A) £4.10, (B) £7.60 and (C) £7.90. The  staking plan returned the same figures because of the way the results happened.

This resulted in a £10 profit in each category (including the staking plans)

Since the start of the trial there have been 20 selection with results equally divided (10wins, 10 losses)

The staking plan however produced a profit as it calls for an increase by one point (to £20) after two losers. Thus the profits were (A) £6.40, (B) £2.90, (C) £5.60
