Matt Bisogno: Trainer Flat Stats
I’ve written about Matt Bisogno before on here, simply because he writes one of the most popular, informative and profitable betting blogs on the planet. This year for the Cheltenham Festival he was posting his views on each of the key races some weeks in advance and he ended up turning over a profit of 73 points at SP and over 120 points at Betfair’s odds. That’s £12,000 profit to straight £100 bets in just 3 days, so you can understand why I like his blog as much as I do.
This guy doesn’t just walk the talk when it comes to betting, I suspect that he actually boogies his way back and forth to the bookmaker’s payout window. Picture the film The Full Monty, where they’re standing in the cue for their dole money. That’s Matt in the bookies, for sure
But Matt has a secret. Not one of those “I know the jockey’s sister” type secrets, but a much more powerful and insanely profitable secret that if you were prepared to put the work in with your own selection process, you could possibly do too. It’s really quite simple – he knows how to work horse racing statistics in a way that practically ensures he wins over and over again.
What Matt does is pour over the form book, carefully analysing every possible variable in the stats, to come up with an optimum set of rules for producing profits each and every time he puts his money down. You only need to look at his Cheltenham results (£12,000 profit in 3 days just a fortnight ago and he gave all of this information away free to his blog subscribers) to know that this guy has the knack of performing precision betting down to a fine art.
So, I’ll give you a little tip here – when Matt Bisogno speaks, you listen
Now, I’ve been an avid reader of Matt’s blog for some time and I’m completely and utterly hooked on it these days, but the last time I wrote about him it was because he was giving away a free copy of the horse racing statistics guide he publishes every six months that details the bets he’ll be placing throughout each season. This publication has averaged an annual profit of more than £25,000 for each of his readers every year since 2002, so it’s pretty damn good!
You can’t pick up a copy of the National Hunt version for free any longer, but it’s the Flat where he excels and now that it’s underway again he’s just released the latest version of his guide.
And this, dear readers, is what they call in betting circles “The Big Kahuna“.
Every year I wait in anticipation for the latest version of Matt’s guide and I don’t say that about many of the betting products I review, but this is the one I’ll definitely make an exception for. It doesn’t matter what else you do – trading, dutching, following tipsters, I don’t care – if you add this low-cost guide to your portfolio I suspect you’ll also be doing “the Travolta” at the payout window more times than you can imagine this flat season. That’s how good it is.
Here’s your ticket to the dance floor…..
Matt Bisogno’s Trainer Flat Stats
Take my advice and don’t pass this opportunity up. You have never heard me speak so highly about anyone or any other betting product before on here and that’s because Matt’s got a proven track record for producing the goods that’s second to none. £12K at Cheltenham says it all.
Plus, the guy dances like an Angel. What more can I say?
Thanks for your comments Jeremy!
Matt has certainly been racking up the profits this week. Long may it continue
OH MY GOD!!!!
I just backed a 33/1 winner!
I know it was above Matt’s 14/1 range but I couldn’t help myself.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a 33/1 winner before!!!
Ha,ha! I was just coming on here to say the same thing myself Jeremy.
I bow to Sir Matt. What a result that was!
You all beat me to the punch here. What can you say to that? It was 33/1 with most of the bookies all morning and it was Johnston’s only runner at Thirsk today. That’s made my week……
I’ve never posted here before but I’m dancing around the room with a £25 e/w ticket at 33/1 in my pocket and wanted to congratulate Matt and everyone else.
I’ll also take a bow to Sir Matt
Ha ha!
I have to admit to breaking the rules myself and having a sneaky wee side bet on it too, it won’t be part of the official results, but with the winnings from that safely tucked away, I’m a happy bunny
Brilliant, simply brilliant. How often can anyone say they back a 33/1 winner? Not often.
20/1 earlier in the week and another 20/1 today (I didn’t get the earlier prices). I only do these to half stakes but I’ve made a small fortune this week with these!
Matt is simply amazing!
This is my first day using TFS and I didn’t notice the 14/1 rule until I read all these comments. For once I’m glad I didn’t read the rules
A big high-five for Matt today!
Kudos big man. You’re ripping it apart this week!
nooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!
incredible !!!!!!!!!!!!!
today:
GB / Thirsk (GB) 18 aprile / 14:30 1m Hcap Always Brave 19/1 WON
GB / Yarm (GB) 18 aprile / 17:30 6f Hcap Polar Force 24/1 WON
why why why i stake only 10 ?????????????
I must be missing something with the Polar Force bet, but you’re right about Always Brave
I’m a deviant with the rules too. I actually took 25/1 to half stakes like Craig. £300 prof today, can’t complain about that.
Sorry, I understand what you meant about Polar Force now – it was a female so I’d automatically discounted it. Pleased to hear you did do it though!
Trainer Flat Stats has had an amazing start to the season. Long may it continue!
I’ve got a sore head this morning after celebrating a bit too hard yesterday
Sore head: As do I my friend, as do I!
I’m still recovering from yesterday. Up with the larks this morning however and ready to go again!
Josh, with £25 each-way on at 33/1 I’m not surprised!
Can anyone here tell me if you think it’s sensible to back all the Trainer Flat Stats runners each-way? I saw that Matt quotes the place part in his results from the jumps season and the success rate is very high. Is this a recommended strategy or does he do that for information purposes?
I would recommend doing that Angela, especially so with the longer priced runners. I believe the strike-rate on the placed horses should be in the region of 50%, so it will help to smooth over losing periods by backing them each-way. Today we had a 14/1 selection who finished 3rd and I backed that each-way myself when we were getting 7/2 a place.
I think that’s a sensible option when many of the qualifiers are e/w prices. Matt made a big deal of promoting the fact the place s/r was very high last year and as Paul said that 14/1 place yesterday put us in profit again from the two qualifiers.
I’ve just checked the results for the NH season this year and the place % is 51.72%. The place profit is minimal, but if the odds warrant it (certainly if they’re in the 8/1 – 14/1 range) then I’d do them each-way.
Hi I’m new to raceing have background in tradeing commodities I bought “four the win ” and found its great service so I bought the trainer stats flats figuring it was well recommended
I recieved my first email and I really don’t know what it says Four the win I can understand it has the track the date and the horse …. But could someone explain what this is to me 25b Queen Anne Road
Hackney, London
E9 7AH
GB
I assume Queen Ann Road is a horse but am I supposed to seacrch all races to find him and really not clear what day Hackney is that a trainer I wrote the service did not recieve a reply so I thought you folks could help this newbie Out ..
Hi Bill,
That’s just the address for any correspondence, it’s not a selection
Oh Geeze I feel pretty dumb thanks Craig No Wonder I could not find the horse
Well I hope you had a good laugh at least
I can’t lie Bill, I have to say I did have a bit of a laugh…all in good jest though
OK further to my previous post, now this is from the jumps version but illustrates the same point that you may be able to clear up for me prior to tonights racing.
in the 5.40 tonight there’s a five year old runner in a 4yo+ race
The filter reads as follows…
5yo+ Non-Hcaps
Bearing this in mind is it a qualifier? The race is a 4yo+ race so does the filter mean 5yo+ races (there’s an example later on the card)or horses aged 5yo+
?
Nat, it will be horses aged 5yo or older.
Thanks Paul at least i know now that if i am backing the wrong horse at least i wont be the only one! lol
Craig & Paul =>
Can one of you tell me why Matt did select Cape Colony? It was over 1m2f.. But it won, and I did place a bet, and got the betfair SP odds at 4.98, so that was a nice race to end the day!
I wondered about that too. I presume because it was an in-between distance, but it might be worth emailing him to ask.
Even without that one it was a profitable day anyway with the 1-2 in the 6.25 and the winner being backed from 4/1 into 11/4.
Okay.. I can see that Craig also have Cape Colony in the test results.. So maybe we have missed something
Martin/Gavin,
We receive Matt’s daily emails with the selections and it’s these that we’re working off for the system test. Craig just checks the results at the end of each day and marks them up.
Even saying you didn’t have this one today, following what I said below – and the way Matt markets the system himself – about each-way betting, you would have had three bets today…
Generous Boy – unplaced at 12/1
Adversity – second at 5/1
Silver Rime – a winner at 11/4
7/2 was easily available on Silver Rime (4/1 even) so that returned a profit of roughly 4.25 points, the bet on Adversity returned a profit of 0.25 points, and the other lost 2 points.
End result = 2.5 points profit
If you do get Matt’s emails and you had Cape Colony it was more like 7 points profit.
Looking over the last couple of season’s results I think it makes good sense to back them each-way when the odds warrant it.
You should email Matt about that other one – only he knows why he selected it today
~ Paul
Yeah i had Cape Colony too ! Looking back your right it doesnt qualify. Maybe Matt had a few too many down at Great Leighs on Sunday! Even so, the guy deserves a drink from all of us.
You could be right there Paul
He’s been sending us his emails, so I didn’t even look at the book today and didn’t know about it until Gavin posted here. He’s even mentioned it as a winner in his email for tomorrow.
Paul,
Depending on the time of the day, you’d have one more selection at 6.25 Windsor, which unfortunatelly lost.
I’m talking about Legislation which I backed at 12/1 (SP 20/1).
There is no hard rules in this system and we all could have completely different results (to the some extent).
Prices do fluctuate all the time, plus we use different bookmakers who have different rules regarding Rule4 and/or guaranteed prices.
For instance, I had 2 bets on Cape Colony today:
BetDirect @ 3.75 and Centrebet @ 3.75.
Odds drifted and SP was 4.0
BetDirect settled at 4.0 (guaranteed odds) , whilst Centrebet at 3.75.
Maybe the difference of 0.25 point doesn’t sound that much, but it’s £25 to the £100 stake!!!
That’s not true JD. The rules are completely straightforward:
1. No bet if the runner is female.
2. No bet if the SP is above 14/1.
Those are the only rules, so if you’re following the system to the letter you’ll have exactly the same selections as everyone else.
I wouldn’t put anyone off having a few pounds on the longer priced runners, as this season has already proved, but if you want to follow it exactly then you’ll draw the line at 14/1 SP.
Paul,
Please just read and re-read rules at page 2 of the manual and re-read them again.
The rules DO NOT use SP at all.
The rule no2 says: the horse must be 14/1 or shorter.
And use search funcion to find out there is no referrence to SP anywhere in the manual.
LOL.
Touche, neither it does
Okay, I’ll give you the definitive answer on this:
1. All of his results are quoted to SP.
2. His salesletter states that it’s SP he works from.
3. He regularly states that it’s SP he uses on his blog.
So, when he’s talking about maximum odds of 14/1 he’s talking about 14/1 SP
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Some of you may have read about this on his blog yesterday, but Matt has announced that he’ll be taking Trainer Flat Stats off the market next weekend.
This isn’t some weak marketing ploy – he really will be taking it off the market, so if you want to get your hands on a copy I’d get it this week while you still can.
He’s just about to roll out an added bonus for every customer – a guide called TrainerSandStats that will concentrate on the four all-weather courses – and every existing customer of Trainer Flat Stats will also receive a copy of this, so there’s an extra incentive for getting it now too.
Hi
Bought TFS at the weekend so this is my first post.
Can anyone tell me where on the racing post website it tells you wether a horse is male or female as I understand this is one of the main rules.
Hi Freddie,
You can click on the horse in question and it will bring up an information box. At the top of the box, next to the horses name, it has the age of the horse, followed by a date then something like b g for bay gelding (male) or b f for filly. You’re looking for the f or m for filly or mare.
Hi Craig
Thanks for the info.
Using the guide for the all weather tracks which I got for free yasterday I came up with Yamal in the 4.45 Kempton.
It says b c in the pop up box so what does that mean.
Also underneath it says half-sister to high-class 10f winner Faithful Son, so does that confirm it is female.
Definately male Freddie.
Thanks Craig
I use the sporting life racecards, i go through the fastcards, then go back to the actual cards and put your cursor on the horse and a box will appear to tell which type it is. Also i have been using greybot to back horses, i set it up in the morning 1.50 to 18.00 and it backs the horses within this price bracket. I have also been backing the TTS selections to place 1.50 to 5.00. If you are working its the best solution to get the best odds.
Good advice Paul!
That’s the thing about Grey Horse Bot – you can set it up and leave it to run all day, covering your selections from a multitude of different systems/services, then just check back later to see how much you’ve won/lost. I’ve got to say I do love Grey Horse Bot!
For those of us who dont subscribe to the dailt e/mail , would it be possible for us to put the qualifiers on this board ?
I think it’s a little early in the season to make any assumptions Martin. On straight win bets we’re probably down a couple of points on the season at SP and we’re showing a bit of a profit at early prices. It honestly wouldn’t worry me one bit.
You really need to look at the full picture for the 2007/2008 NH season. Up to the 26th April it’s made £1303 on the place part of the bets and £2074 on the win part at SP plus 16% with 4% commission, so rather than 19 points it’s more like 170 points and I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think you’ll do much better than SP with these selections. This flat season so far we’ve had some huge movers that have won…. 10/1 to 6/1, 8/1 to 4/1 and so on…. which makes a huge difference to Matt’s advertised profits. If anything, I think he’s conservative with his numbers.
This has made very good money every season since he first started doing it and I haven’t seen anything to suggest this season will be any different.
Martin, if you check Matt’s result pages you’ll see that he quite clearly quotes the place profit and he regularly mentions the place part on his blog too. I took it that this was the way it should be done, but rather than giving me a hard time about it on here why don’t you contact Matt and ask him? I’m only quoting Matt’s own recorded results and what he says on his blog.
There isn’t any point at all in doing these bets at SP either, so the SP profits are completely irrelevant to me. Just in the last 4 weeks that much has been obvious.
Martin, here’s the link to Matt’s own results:
http://www.trainertrackstats.com/TTS20078perf.htm
I second that! Talk to Matt, he will answer your questions. Exchanges are the best places for these selections.
