Profitable Lays System Review

Profitable Lays System Review

Profitable Lays

Profitable Lays

Welcome to our review of Profitable Lays

Profitable Lays is a system created by Chris Adams and is, as the title suggests, a lay to lose system that can be downloaded as an E-book: the cost of which is normally £97.00, but is currently available at a discounted price of just £67.

The vendor states that no previous knowledge of horse racing or mathematics are necessary. He says that all selections can be found in an average of 25 mins and there is no need to be constantly at your computer as they can be found and bets placed before racing starts, although he says that he prefers to be at his computer.

Profitable Lays is completely mechanical which means that everybody selects the same horses. There are only 3 rigid rules and the system usually selects between 4-5 races daily with and average losing SP of 11/8.

The vendor states that Profitable Lays has been showing a monthly profit of over £700 for £25.00 stakes with the longest losing run of only 3 days in one full calendar month and has been delivering a strike rate of over 60%.
The system has been fully tested by the vendor on UK races only but he does know that these bets can be placed on American – Australian and South African  racing.

Profitable Lays can be used with at least one of the major Bots: details of which are given in the E-Book.

I will be reviewing Profitable Lays for a period of 60 days and will calculate all bets to Betfair SP.
I will use a 1 point level stake where 1 point will be the equivalent of £10.00.
All returns will be shown less a 5% deduction for Betfair commission.

Profitable Lays: the Bottom Line

Firstly, my thoughts on the positive side.
The Profitable Lays selections are very easy to find only taking approx 10 mins daily and as an extra plus I found the author very accessible with any queries I had. There is also the option to subscribe to a members’ website with the selections posted there each morning.

Everybody will find the same selections providing they use the Racing Post paper version. The online version does occasionally have differing selections. All selections from the paper version are given daily on the website.

The bank was never in any real danger although for a short period of time it did show a loss. It soon recovered from this and has not looked back since.

The lay prices are usually quite low – from Evens to 4/1 being the norm and and an average of around 11/8. There was one glitch, however, where one lay won at 17.00. If not for this, the bank would have finished the trial over 30 points up. Even so to finish over 18 points to the good is no mean achievement in only 2 months.

I only have one negative, which is only a minor one and that is like all the rest of us, Chris is prone to the odd mistake on his site. By that I mean he occasionally misses the odd qualifying race or posts the wrong time of race. This by no means lowers my estimation of the system and in my opinion Profitable Lays will be a long term profit maker and I would highly recommend it.

    Hi

A month ago i have tested this strategy but i think i was in a unluck row…i loose money with that…

    Hi,
No betting system is infallible and they will all go through a period of losing money at some point. Profitable Lays is going well at present, but it will no doubt have its ups and downs along the way.

  3. dave says:

how did overall profit go from 123 to 53 on day 6 after winning 17.50 that day??

  4. Chris.W says:

There’s obviously an error in there: I’ll investigate & recitfy.

    Chris (Admin)

  5. Chris.W says:

Day 6′s P/L had been erroneously added to Day’s P/L figure rather than the Overall P/L figure.
All rectified now, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

    Hi Chris W,
I’m also using the system but seem to have differing results to yourself and PL website ,for 13/12/11 i had a points profit of 1.16 whereas yourself and PL have over +4 points, i’m laying all horses picked at BSP with a maximum liability and with no maximum odds , any help greatly recieved cheers dave

  7. Chris.W says:

    Hi Dave,

The difference is probably arising from you laying them at Betfair SP at a fixed liability. We always declare our results to a level stake and we can’t lay to a level stake at SP, so we need to take a price, generally via a bot.
The differences in prices achieved might account for the variance in the figures. It should also be noted that Profitable lays own results pages does not take any betfair commission into consideration, which will also cause differences in the figures.

    Chris (admin)

  8. terry says:

Firstly the system works on £75 per bet (lay). So the 13th.Dec .I did the 8 bets (1 n/r)
    You state 2wins / 6 losers.
How come? only one lost (came 1st.) the other 7 won me £70 less £19.20 for the winner
    Regards Terry

  9. Chris.W says:

Terry, the system manual refers to placing lays at £25, not £75.
However we always work to a £10 stake for reasons of convenience and uniformity across the site.
There were bets in 3 races yesterday: 1 losing bet in race 1 and 1 losing bet in race 3.

    Chris (Admin)

  10. terry says:

Sorry Chris – no losing bet in race 3 ! one N/R Surf & Turf – that left Primrose Time 5th., + Storm Surge 2nd nice £20 for me !

  11. Chris.W says:

    Terry,
I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at.
Storm Surge was a lay: it got placed, so you lost money.

    Chris (Admin)

  12. Kevin says:

Hi there, just checking…do you limit your liability to either a maximum odds no you are willing to lay to or limit amount you’re prepared to lose…I ask as place odds can be large sometimes

  13. Chris.W says:

    Hi Kevin, good question.
The simple answer is no. No maximum liability and no maximum odds. The odds for Profitable Lays are very rarely large anyway. The average is around the 2.40 mark.

  14. Chris says:

There is certainly smth going wrong with this.

1.Comparing your results with the author’s results at his sales page, i find nothing the same. And if he is not taking into consideration the 5% deduction of the the Betfair commision, then is surely hiding something. When having 8 winning lays ,the actual profit is 7,6 pts not 8 pts!
And while the author claims a 537 pts profit since May 2010, when placing so many bets,if you apply the Betfair commision, then surely the profit will be chopped off.

2.Also in another review of the product (in another site) during the live test, they recorded a 17 pt loss, while in the same period the author claims a profit of 20 pts.
    That’s a huge difference, don’t you think?
I don’t believe the reviewer would have any reason to use false results, after all he could be grandring some commision for selling it.

  15. Chris.W says:

    Hi Chris,

I can only really comment on what we do here at OBE. We are live trialling this as you can see and the results we are declaring are the results our reviewer is getting.
There may be slight differences between our figures and those on the Profitable Lays, but hat will probably be down to the variance in odds between the time our reviewer takes his price and the actual Betfair SP, which the system author declares his results to.

I cannot pass any opinion on how other review sites are run, but I can assure you that we would never over inflate the true worth of a system in return for financial reward. Mine and the site’s integrity and reputation are worth far more than that.

Please be assured that the figures we quote on our reviews are representative of a system’s performance.

    Thanks,
    Chris Worrall (Support)

First of all i never doubted the integrity of this site, i truly respect your work here.

But on the other hand, the difference in results i’ve mentioned above is also true and that is what worries me.
Also, something i forgot to add yesterday..In his site, the author claims a 60% with an average losing SP of 2.4..
So, placing 100 bets, i win in 60 of them making my net profit 60*0,95=57 pts
I lose the other 40, with an average liability of 2.4-1=1.4 pts, so my loss is 40*1,4=56 pts

At the end, i have a net profit of 1 pt for each 100 bets or 140 pts liability, returning 0,7% for my investment.
In conclusion, unless i’m making any dreadful mistake with my original estimations regarding the SR and the avg losing SP, i can’t see how the author’s longterm results can stand.

Accept my apologies before hand, if there’s something i misunderstood.

    Hi Chris,

I’m sorry if I suggested you were doubting our integrity: that certainly wasn’t my intention.

The strike rate is quoted as being over 60%, it is currently running at around the 65% mark and showing an average of around 12 lays per day.
If there are an average of 12 lays per day, we can approximate this to 360 lays per month. Profitable Lays own results claim an average of around 25 pts per month after commissions (27pts beforehand).
To achieve this profit, the system would need a strike rate of around 62%: it is currently running at around 66% over the last couple of weeks and at 63% over the last 6 weeks.

Therefore, I really do believe that those profits are realistically attainable.
