Racing Profits System Review
Racing Profits System Review
”Tis the 9th of May and we shall start a 45 day review of the Racing Profits Backing System.
Racing Profits is a backing system for the UK mainland horse racing market (i.e. not Irish racing), written by Mark Boyle, costing £29. We have seen many systems here at OBE with this lower end price tag, but we are never one to pre-judge and we would love Racing profits to be the exception to this rule. For this you reveive a 26 page PDF manual, the rules of which really only take up one page. The rest of the manual mainly contains useful examples to help guide you through the rules, which are quite simple to understand.
It is a place backing system with loads of filters, few of which are the usual Adrian Massey fare, so while there is no results history to look at , Racing Profits bodes well as being a thought out system by an author that has had good critical acclaim for his Racing Winners backing system last year – which bears absolutely no relation to this one.
Whilst the rules are simple to understand and execute, initial impressions are that it is no five minute job to make the selections for Racing Profits. One of the good things about this system is that all of the information is freely available online from the Racing Post. I will be letting you know in reality how much work is involved.
———- Racing Profits Detailed Results ———-
Day 1 – Racing Profits – 9/5/11
2 Qualifying horses today, the first selection did not meet our minimum price criteria even though it was placed – and this review will record the results as per the author’s rules – any comments on profitable variations will be made if deemed worthwhile -while the 2nd selection not only placed but won its race.
20.10 Windsor Dubai Glory, BSP 3, so 2 points win – a good start

Racing Profits System Review
Day 6 27/5/11
THIS is the day the Racing Profits system exploded into life!
Not only did the system give us a nett return on the day in the place market around which it is devised of 7 points, had all selections been backed each way the days profit would have been 24 points. Wow!
However, I must calm down and treat the system as it is devised – we can see at the end whether there is more mileage in it than the author expected, today may just have been one of those happy blips ( They are usually unhappy bli
There were 3 unplaced selections losing us 3 points, but 2 placers:-
Both selections in the 7.55 Stratford
King of Castille at BSP 8.2
Davis Return which won the race at a place price of 3.9 (The win BSP was 14)
There were 2 other winning horses but their price did not meet the Racing Profits system criteria)
Updated statistics
No of Bets 10
Losing Bets 6

Cumulative Profit to level stakes 7.35 points
Please Note. The system comes with a staking plan. Results detail tomorrow will show the effect of that and we will continue showing level stakes profit alongside the staking plan results

Day 8 30/5/11
Before todays results are shown just a note to say we did not increase the profits by 9 points today beacause of 1 filter. This is not the first time in the short time this review has been going we have not been able to declare profits, but” rules is rules”. The various possibilities for profitable variation will be monitored and listed if warranted at the end of the trial
As todays Racing Profits results, we only had 1 qualifying runner which was unplaced so our cumulative profit reduces to a still very welcome 11.46 points

Racing Profits System Review
Review Summary
This is a backing System sent in pdf form.
The selection procedure takes as little as 3 minutes a day, up to 30 minutes – dependant not just on the amount of racing but the possible candidates which can be just 1 on a heavy Saturday, to 4 or 5 on a light Monday. Typically 10 minutes.
The good thing is that you can make the selection 24/36 hours before racing which means the selection process is not a tie.
The only part of the process you cannot complete at that time is the final price filter – but I bet to BSP so it is not a problem.
Contact with the vendor is easy with replies coming in an hour or so, never more than 12.
The profit I obtained was 20 points for the 45 days, BUT……….
I cannot vouch for its accuracy.
Let me explain.
Partway through the review a reader who had purchased the System queried some of my selections.
After some discussion, it was apparant we were following different rules!
I contacted the vendor who clarified certain points, but still the discrepancies happened.
Further contact with the Systems’s author brought the realisation I was working from an early copy of the rules which while in itself was somewhat confusing also obviously was missing filters that were in the update.
Despite the author acknowledging this, no up to date copy was forthcoming, nor were answers to some finer points of selection which were raised with him.
So, the rather nice, for a place system , profit obtained were to a set of rules that are incomplete.
The gentleman on the Blog who first brought my attention to the discrepancies appears to have the up-to-date version but he advises me he has a large variance in his selections to those of the vendor.
The number of selections I have made and the profit returned is significantly higher than those published by the vendor for the same period.
So far as I am concerned, my reading of the rules as sent to me have produced a sensible return for a 36% strike rate at winning odds of never below evens and up to 5/1 for the place. Longest Losing Run was 5 which happened 3 times. The vendors results show 1 losing run of 7
So my conclusion is that if I follow “my rules” it is a consistently profitable system giving modest returns to a modest risk and I would certainly endorse its use. But my rules are not the systems rules, because I havn’t been sent them…………………

Looks interesting, Colin.
How much time are you having to devote in order to find the selections?
Once you have found them do you placeat live prices or BSP?
Hi Colin,
It seems one of us may be misunderstanding the rules of the system as I’m having a bit different selections than you do. E.g. yesterday (19 june) I had a qualifying horse – RUBY VALENTINE at 3:50 Hereford. Did you check that one?
Sorry to be late in replying, been away.
The horse I picked up in tha race was “Another Kate” but it did not have sufficient qualifying finishes – I assume you bought the system so will know what I mean.
The horse you mention was trained by A.J.Wilson. I cannot look back at the stats. required to see whether he qualified – but I have checked with the systems author and he did not have a selection on that day.
If you want to e.mail me at brillhill@g
mail.com giving me the trainer and results statistics you use, I will confirm the rules.
HOWEVER, he shows a winning lay for the 20th which I did not consider qualified.
When I have heard from you I will reply privately with the detail of that and why I consider it was NOT a selection
Kind regards
Colin
The pdf is unclear in a number of areas, I have advised Mark of this and he “will rewrite” eventually
Am SO sorry to be late in replying to you – I simply did not see your enquiry.
I takes me a good half hour on a Saturday when there is lots to look up, but Sunday was little more than 5 minutes
If am able to watch live and horse is drifting will back early, otherwise BSP
If watching live and horse coming in, try to do it a few minutes before the off as the pattern is often a low point, then a drift out and a little spurt in (!) just before the off, and the BSP can often be bettered this way. But its a bit of swings and roundabouts really. The problem is that with the systems final filter, you may lay a losing horse at too high a price, or miss a losing lay at too low a price. (Enough clues here) So I record results to BSP as that is straightforward and unargueable!
kind regards
Colin
Hi Colin,
Sent a couple of questions to the email address you specified but got no answer so far. Perhaps, it could’ve classified as spam? Have you seen it? It is titled ‘ *Racing Profits Review* question ‘
