Amazing Selector is no longer available.

There’s been a lot of hype in recent weeks about the Amazing Selector system.

Amazing Selector is a backing system for use on UK horse racing, and costs £7 + VAT through Clickbank.

The Amazing Selector system is actually an algorithm run through Excel and, if that sounds complicated, it isn’t. In fact, it takes about 15-20 minutes – if that – per day to find the selections to back. But is Amazing Selector any good? And is Amazing Selector hard to operate?

The Excel software is easy enough to use – it took my reviewer, Mark, 13minutes this morning to check three racecards.

Downloading after purchase – Mark had problems with this and it took him a couple of days to actually download the system. That said, the Amazing Selector team’s support desk was excellent: emails contact with help and assistance. The reason for the problems were related to the fact that the download files came in a zipped up format and needed a piece of free software to open them up.

There are actually two types of selections with Amazing Selector system – one from the simple method and one from the advanced method.

What about the sales page claims? Yes, it looks you will get big winners with Amazing Selector. But what the headlines fail to mention is how many selections qualify for backing, and that there is quite a high percentage of losers. However, they are trying to select value horses so to the lowish strike rate is to be expected.

Mark has detailed below the results for the three days from Friday to Sunday, and will be updating me (so that I can update you!) over the next few weeks. Mark’s early prognosis is that Amazing Selector looks useful as a place backing system… as long as you can withstand the high and lows of backing long odds horse.

The Amazing Selector has got it’s head in front for the first time in a while, and it’s the type of approach that can claw it all back with one big winner, as it has done here. However, equally, users should be aware that there might be a fair amount of losers in between winners. If that’s not your thing, Amazing Selector probably won’t be either…

Also bear in mind that betting with Betfair at these odds would have you nicely in front at this stage.

Today sees the start of a new trial over here at OBE HQ of the Favourites Phenomenon System (herein known as FP System for obvious reasons).

FP System has been a sneaky little blighter. I first heard of it a few weeks ago, before its release, but then all was silent for a while. It was only last week I found out it had actually found it’s way onto the market……and I haven’t had a single email about it.

So, what can I tell you about this FP System? Well, first off it’s penned by Matt Watson, who is undoubtedly one of the nicest guys I’ve dealt with in the world of sports betting. In the couple of days I’ve had the system to look at, he’s already responded in a ridiculously timely manner to any query I’ve had and is totally open about his FP System and his hopes for the good folks that purchase it.

Secondly, FP System is a backing system, a ridiculously easy backing system…so ridiculously easy that I had to read it twice, nae, thrice to ensure I’d actually understood it. I thought I’d missed something, that there was no way that what I had read was the actual system, but it was and is, and that’s a good thing!

Thirdly, and this is where people skip a page, FP System is a Stop At A Winner system. WAIT! Don’t hit back on your browser, not just yet, anyway. We’ve never fully trialled a SAW system on OBE before, because they are generally a one way ticket straight to the poor house, no passing ‘Go’, no collecting £200. But there is a very good reason they lead straight there, and that is plain and simple poor money management, which is where this system differs from most others.

I should say here that The FP System is more than just a system, it doesn’t arrive on your doormat in glossy brochure form, it’s so much more than that. I am genuinely excited about what Matt is trying to achieve here, he has set up a website that is designed to educate the punter, rather than simply sell them a system. And oh, what a gloriously simple system it is. On my first read through, I skipped straight to the rules and missed out the first few pages. My first thought was ‘this can’t be for real, nothing this simplistic will ever make money.’

I then read through the whole thing, from start to finish, and realised that Matt had actually done a fair bit of research before embarking on this journey, and that he did actually have a good point, and that the system may be better than I first thought. In fact, using the recommended stop loss should see us profit in 98% of our betting days. There won’t be a bet everyday as one of the things Matt is big on is discipline. A quick pre-race check will tell me if I’ll be dabbling in the market or not on any particular day.

So, the FP System, as I’ve said, is simple, so simple that my 7 year old wee lad could do it, seriously! It comes with a choice of stop losses, 5, 7 or 9 bets (5 being the recommended for newbies). The Favourites part of the title tells you we’re dealing with favourites, and that my good fellows/fellowesses is pretty much all I need to say – any more and you’d have the system!

So, for the test, we’ll start with the recommended 200 point bank and we’ll go for the full fat, stop loss set at 9 races, using £10 per day as a profit target and a £2000 bank.

Below are the results for the trial, followed by my thoughts on Favourites Phenomenon…

Conclusion

So, that’s the end of our trial of The FP System, and boy oh boy this one has blown me away! When I first read the system rules and found out it was a Stop At A Winner (SAW) system, I figured we’d all be heading to the poor house – I was wrong, oh so wrong!

This is the first SAW system I’ve ever seen that has been properly researched and is based on sound racing statistics. There’s no ‘stable gambles’, inside info or any of that bull, it’s just plain old statistics and I LIKE that! Add in the fact that Matt is an all-round nice guy and offers the best customer service we’ve ever seen and it was obvious we were on to a winner!

I said in my opening review that what Matt was offering was so much more than a system and I still stand by that. His customer support is second to none, and each email he sends gives a little bit of advice and let’s you see inside the mind of a professional punter. Anyone considering taking up this game full time could do a lot worse than listen to what Matt has to say.

So, we spent around 40 days testing The FP System and had a total of 30 days actual betting. In those 30 days we banked a total of 30 points profit, and most days my ‘work’ was all done and dusted within two or three races. Occasionally, I had to play in five races – not exactly what I’d call taxing! The biggest single stake I placed was just shy of £70 and the biggest total amount staked on any one day was £120, again nothing to worry about there — especially if you follow Matt’s money management advice and set up the correct bank. If spending an hour in front of your PC sounds too much like hard work, have no fear! Matt has designed a bot that will do ALL the work for you! It is currently awaiting Betfair approval, which is expected anytime now and when released will make the job even easier — can’t say fairer than that!

So, do we here at OBE recommend The FP System?? We absolutely 100% recommend The FP System as an essential part of any serious punters portfolio, not just because the system is so good, but because of the support and advice that comes with it…

However, that’s all changing this week…

Firstly, Matt Bisogno has announced that he’ll be removing his excellent Trainer Flat Stats guide from the market this Saturday. I’ve followed the information in this guide for the last few seasons and to say that the results from it have been incredible would be an understatement. Every single season it’s come up trumps in grand style and it’s unlikely that this flat season will be any different, so if you’d like to get your hands on a copy I’d go do it NOW!

Secondly, Joe from Four The Win has confirmed to us that he’ll be removing his system from the market in four days time, because he’s also concerned that too many users would have a detrimental effect on the profits. Just in case you missed it, you should read through the results of our system test and then go read our final review to see why he’s made the decision to do this. In terms of ROI this surpassed everything we’ve tested on here by some way!

I’ve got to say that I’m sorry these two will no longer be available, but it should let you see why we raved about them so much over the last few weeks and how valuable the vendors themselves consider them to be. This really is your last opportunity to get hold of Trainer Flat Stats and Four The Win, so if I was you I’d do it TODAY while you still have the chance!

A horse racing system that's been generating rave reviews recently. See what happened when we put it to the test...

We’d heard some amazing things about a backing system called Bet Synergy recently and when you consider that the main page of their website says “I have followed it assiduously for the past 3 months, had over 1000 bets and made over £12,000 at over 20% return on investment” we were expecting a whole different experience to what actually happened when we tested it.

This is what Craig had to say about it prior to starting our test:

Bet Synergy is a backing system that has been around for a while now and it’s been getting some interesting reviews lately, so we decided it was high time OBE put it to the test. It is a system that is based on finding subtle differences between the opinions of the bookies and the betting exchanges.

The system comes in the form of a 31 page PDF document and at first it appeared to be a little daunting, however, after another read through it all became clear. I also thought it would take a while to find each day’s selections, but it actually took me less than 15 minutes to get the first day’s selections so I can’t complain too much. Interestingly, there are a couple of different ways to get your selections: you can look at each market around 30 minutes prior to the start, or just go through them all in one go earlier in the day. Due to time constraints, I will be following the latter method, which will probably mean slightly fewer selections.

Also, the chances are my selections will be different to A N Other, as it really is time dependant and the markets are constantly changing beasts.

So, for the purpose of this test I will assume a £1000 bank and stake £10 on each selection.

He then followed Bet Synergy for the next month, 25 days in total, and it would be worthwhile looking back through the full results for this period to get an idea of how it worked. Rather than coming up with the same quantity of bets it claimed on their website, Craig was lucky to find 3 or 4 bets most days and the results just hovered around the break even point for most of the month.

This is what he had to say at the end of the test period:

So, we’ve come to the end of our test of Bet Synergy and I have to say it’s been a bit of a disappointment. I had heard from a few different sources that it was a great product, produced some great winners at great prices, and was to be highly recommended. I’m afraid our test hasn’t borne out those claims, or backed up those other reviews.

To recap – Bet Synergy basically has you checking bookies against the exchanges and looking out for three particular trends which signal a horse has a good chance of winning. In principle I agree with the theory behind it, it makes sense, in practice however it just didn’t seem to work out. The guide doesn’t give any specific times to check but does suggest that a check around lunchtime should find a few selections but waiting until around 30 minutes before the off should be a bit more accurate. To be honest, I found none of these methods found me many selections and was checking most races right up until the final minute before the off. Even then, I wasn’t bombarded with selections, and found very few winners for a fair amount of work.

There is also very little chance of having the same selections as anyone else as it really will depend on what time you can/do check the markets. Punter ‘A’ might find he has three or four qualifiers and wins in two of them while Punter ‘B’ might find five or six and lose every one!

To be fair to Bet Synergy, we did finish the test in profit of just over 9% on the bank for the month, which is better than you’ll find at your local high street bank, and we found a good priced winner or two along the way with some decent priced placed horses too, which suggests it’s not all doom and gloom. It may even have been a bad time of year with the change to the flat season, but we have to base this review on what happened during our test and I’m afraid I can’t really give it a big thumbs up.

Having said that, I’m not inclined to give it a thumbs down either, because as I said earlier I understand the logic behind Bet Synergy, and we did end the month in profit. I think the best I can do is give it a bit of a neutral rating. There is promise there, undoubtedly, and some of the emails I received during the month backed that up. More than one of the emails suggested I dropped two of the trends the system tells you to look for and I’d have more success. I decided against that as that isn’t what the guide suggests and for the purposes of the test I wanted to stick rigidly to the rules. Perhaps dropping it to one trend may indeed have produced more selections and winners, I can’t really say although I do have a gut feeling it would have.

So, overall I’d give Bet Synergy a five out of ten rating. I’m sorry I can’t be more definitive than that, I see promise in it but that wasn’t fulfilled in our test.

I’ve got to say that I agree with Craig’s comments. If you look back through the results you’ll see that there was a few decent priced winners and a few more who went very close, so with a bit of luck we could easily have been looking at a much better profit for the month. Generating 9% isn’t bad at all in 25 days, but I can’t help thinking we were perhaps a little unlucky not to rack up more profit than we did and the next 25 days could very well tell a different story.

If anyone else has been using Bet Synergy on a longer term basis, please feel free to leave your comments about it below. Your feedback is most welcome….
