The Ultimate Guide To Laying Low-Priced Favourites Who Lose!

There seems to have been an explosion of laying systems over the last few months. They are appearing everywhere and new ones are being churned out on a daily basis. Unfortunately, most of them are useless rubbish, written by some half-wit with only one intention – to pull in money from the unsuspecting punter using nothing more than a snazzy website and wild claims of life changing wealth and riches. Some of them will have just three rules, some will have fifteen, but the majority we come across fall well short of the mark.

A lot of people believe that laying is an easy game, after all how difficult can it be to find a loser, right?

Wrong! Laying is a difficult game and there aren’t many systems that produce the goods consistently. It’s a game that’s fraught with dangers… that 12/1 outsider (that you’ve had to lay at nearer to 16/1) who doesn’t have a chance, but somehow gets up on the line and takes with it all of your previous profit and then some. And it will happen much more than you think!

It’s not all doom and gloom, however, because there is a way to make a decent living from laying horses, especially if you concentrate on low priced favourites. There is only one way to do this successfully and that is to do your homework! It is definitely possible to make a comfortable living from laying favourites, in fact that’s where the majority of my betting income comes from, but you must know what you are doing and, unfortunately, there are no real short-cuts.

So, the best way to learn how to do this successfully is to listen to someone who has been there, done that and worn the T-Shirt. In my opinion, one of the best laying courses available on the Internet today is False Favourites, which comes with 216 pages of sheer gold. It’s written by a Betfair Accredited Trainer, Jonathan Burgess, and it’s clear from the start that this is someone who knows what he’s talking about.

Right from the word go, Jonathan makes sure you are aware this is no walk in the park, you won’t retire overnight, in fact the results on Jonathan’s website show he is making around 10-15 points profit per month, not an outrageous claim by any means. So with £50 stakes you’d be profiting by £500 – £750, £100 stakes you’d be banking £1000 – £1500 a month. I think this is one of the reasons I really admire Jonathan, he is totally upfront, he won’t insult your intelligence with ridiculous claims and hype. What he is offering you is the chance to learn how to make a consistent and relatively safe income by betting on horses to lose.

False Favourites is split into two books, the first deals with all the ins and outs of National Hunt racing, starting at the basics of opening your Betfair account, discussing why favourites lose and taking you step by step right the way through to the selection method. And this isn’t just a page of how to choose your selection, this is 30 pages of the most useful ‘how to’ I have read in a long, long time! The selection process is then followed up with 20 pages of examples to help you understand exactly how Jonathan makes his picks.

The second book deals with laying on the Flat and is just as detailed as book one, providing you with a wealth of information and numerous examples to ensure you understand the methodology and theory behind it all.

Now, I know this isn’t going to make pleasant reading for those of you who are searching for a “get rich quick” solution, but here at Online Betting Exposed we aim to bring the best of products to your attention, not the ones that make unrealistic claims and fail to deliver, and I would defy anyone to pay the £27.99 for this fantastic product and not to be absolutely delighted with your purchase. It really is that good.

A horse racing system that boasts a profit of £86,676 in 11 months, but is it all true? You'll be surprised by our results...

When you come across a horse racing system that boasts a profit of £86,676 in the space of 11 months it certainly grabs your attention, but I’m sure we’ve all fallen into the “too good to be true” trap before (some of us more than once!), so before you start salivating about the instant wealth that’s about to be thrust upon you, it pays to find out the facts before you part with your cash.

When we first came across a new system called Lay Pro 88 this is exactly what we were thinking. The numbers look good, but could they really be trusted? So we set about finding out for ourselves and tested the system for the purposes of this website for the whole month of February. The results, as I’m sure you’ll agree, are certainly very interesting.

This is what we said about Lay Pro 88 prior to starting the test…

Lay Pro 88 is, as the name suggests, a laying system with an advertised strike rate of 88%. The system itself is very simple to operate and has a minimal set of rules to follow to find each selection. The downside of the system is that it must be operated on the live market which means either sitting by your PC all day or employing a bot to do the work on your behalf.

The author suggests that Lay Pro 88 will profit with level stakes, however, he does include a staking plan that appears, on the face of it, will increase profits dramatically without placing too much strain on the bank balance, although it may be a little too aggressive for those of a nervous disposition. If adopting this staking plan, the author suggests a betting bank of 200 units to ensure safety during the inevitable losing run’s.

For the test, I will be operating the system manually which will allow me to get a good feel for it, rather than relying, immediately anyway, on a bot and I will also use the staking plan that accompanies the system. My starting bank will be £2000 giving me a base stake of £10.

Every day throughout February my partner Craig then posted updates after racing with his bets for the day (you can read right through them in the System Testing section of our website) and at the end of the testing period he posted this final review…

The month has drawn to a close for the test of Lay Pro 88, and it’s been a mighty impressive month. I’ve netted almost 50 points profit in four weeks and that includes taking Betfairs commission into consideration. That is a very impressive return and one that not many systems can provide you with.

There weren’t really any low points during this test and at no point did we dip into the bank. Obviously there were losing bets but the lack of them, coupled with the strength of the staking plan ensured that we finished well in profit for the month. The strike rate for the month was 89.5% and the odds remain reasonable throughout, never laying at higher than 7.5 on the exchanges.

I was quite hopeful for this system prior to the start of the test, as it is mainly based on a racing statistic that has been borne out for many years, however, I did have my reservations that the staking plan may be too aggressive and could actually do some damage to the bank. I am happy to say I was completely wrong, and the staking plan really does compliment the system and the strength of the selections.

I have been trying to think of a negative to say about the system, to try and level this review out, and the only one I can really come up with is that it is another live market system, which means being around during the day to place the bets. I’m sure it could be automated, and even Grey Horse Bot could be used for the selections, however, this would not allow you to use the staking plan, therefore a bot that could be excel linked would be more beneficial.

So, would I recommend Lay Pro 88 – with 50 points profit bagged this month there’s no way I could do anything other than highly recommend it! Go grab your copy now!

Now I don’t know about you, but I’m firmly of the view that 50 points profit in a single month is a damn impressive return for any system. What made this particular one even more appealing was the fact that it was steadily growing the bank, with very few nervous moments, all month.

When we originally came up with the idea for this website it was our intention to “out” the systems and services that didn’t come up to scratch, but in our first month we’ve tested three systems that have all produced excellent profits and backtested a fourth that looks very solid too. I’m sure we’ll come across a few “duds” in the future, but it’s been quite the opposite this month.

So it’s safe to say that Lay Pro 88 is another we’ll happily add to the “recommended” list

In February 2008 we put Lay Formula - one of the most widely publicised laying systems on the market today - to the test!

In February 2008 we put Lay Formula – one of the most widely publicised horse racing laying systems on the market today – to the test. Everyone and their auntie had been talking about this laying system and it was apparently for good reason to, because the profits the publishers were claiming were quite exceptional. But was it all it’s cracked up to be, or was it just another of these “here today and gone tomorrow” type systems that look good on paper, but who fail to cut the mustard when you put them into practice?

This is what we said about Lay Formula when we first started our test…

Lay Formula is a system that works around the principle that if fancied horses in the market will attract money before the off, then less fancied horses will, in turn, drift. It is not, however, just blindly laying drifters. The authors have included a number of filters designed to strengthen any bet made.

The system is supplied in PDF form and comes with 29 pages. The first few pages are written to assume the reader has never placed a bet before and this section will give the novice a good grounding. The rest of the manual details the system and gives plenty of examples, to help avoid confusion when operating the system yourself.

Lay Formula works in the live betting markets just before the off, and as a result it will require sitting at a PC during the day, however, the authors are now able to automate the process for an extra fee and I will look into this at the end of the month’s trial.

Lay Formula comes with its own staking plan and staking spreadsheet to help work the stakes out for you, but is claimed to make a level stakes profit. The author suggests it is possible to operate the system from a 100 point bank but does suggest using a 200 point bank where possible to ensure safety.

After reading the manual through a couple of times to make sure I fully understand the method, initial impressions are good and it does seem to be based on sound, logical principles, although as with any system the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and whether or not this system is capable of producing the 131 points (over 2 months) claimed in the sales page will be put to the test over the next month or so.

For the test I will be using a £2000 bank and bet at a base stake of £10 using the associated staking plan.

My partner Craig then posted updates detailing how the bets were performing on a daily basis in the System Testing section of our website. It would probably be worth your while to read through the posts in that section to get the full picture on how the month worked out, but if you’d rather just cut to the chase, here is his final summary of the Lay Formula laying system….

Well, it’s been a month now since I started my test of Lay Formula and it’s been an interesting month.

We finished the month well in the black and, bar a wobbly patch mid month, it has been a positive and successful trial.

The lowest point was on the 16th, at which time we were down £107 or 11 points. Only thirteen days later, we were in the black to the tune of £270 or 27 points, that is 38 points profit in 13 days, an average of nearly 3 points profit a day. There aren’t many systems out there that can boast that kind of profit! Add in the fact that during those 13 days we suffered a number of abandonments and the profit becomes all the more impressive.

Even at the lowest point of the trial I only dipped into my 200 point bank by 5%.

Lay Formula clearly isn’t for everyone. Firstly, while the odds range from 3.5 – 10, the majority of the selections will be in the 7+ class and more likely the 9+ area. This means you are staking 8 – 9 times your stake on a selection, similar to backing an 1/10 odds on shot and if things go wrong which at some point they will, it does hurt a bit. In addition, it is a live market system and as such requires a fair bit of user input. Having said that, Lay Formula have started a bot service that will do the work on your behalf. I received the bot just a couple of days ago and I will update you on how this is progressing over the coming weeks.

Overall, with a strike rate in excess of 92% over the last three months and using the accompanying staking plan, Lay Formula has the potential to make vast sums of money for those disciplined enough to stick with it. My recommendation would be to start small and build it up over time. The guys at Lay Formula assure me that it really comes into its own in the summer months and so all I can say is ‘bring on the summer!’

Lay Formula is a system I rate very highly and is one I use daily as part of my betting portfolio – I’d suggest you do the same!

As you can see from the results and tell from Craig’s enthusiastic write-up about it, Lay Formula passed the test with flying colours. There was a couple of ups and downs in the middle of the month, but as Craig said the very worst period only dipped into the bank by 5% and the 11 points or so that it dropped mid-month were quickly recovered over the next few days.

All in all, we couldn’t find any reason to fault Lay Formula. The system produced a very healthy profit during our testing period and we’re pleased to report that it is based on solid methodology, so this is one system we’ll happily move to our “recommended” list.

Another successful day for Lay Pro 88 with five bets placed and won. It was nice to finish both Lay Pro 88 and Lay Formula on a high note.

I had five bets to place today and all five were successful, although I have a feeling that had Ask Again been given a better ride by its amateur jockey, it might have given me a few anxious moments, but as it was my money was never in doubt.

16:55 Newb – Ask Again – Lost @ 7

Day 28 P/L = £47.50
Total P/L = £495.80
Bank = £2495.80

Racing Secrets Exposed

The Definitive Guide To Laying Horses To Lose

There are literally hundreds of laying systems available these days, indeed there seems to have been an explosion of them in recent months. This is because people perceive laying to be much simpler than backing, after all we’ve been picking losers for years, right? And indeed chances are you that will pick more losers than winners, but get it wrong and it can bite you in the bum!

There are, however, some good laying systems out there, but many of them are ‘live market’ systems, which means sitting at your PC all day. For the majority of people I know, the ideal scenario is being able to find your selections the night before, placing your bets for the day and then going about your daily business. There are a number of systems that cater for this and one of the best of these is Racing Secrets [Exposed].

I first stumbled across this system a year or so back on the recommendation of a friend. Now, I’ve seen many a laying system in my time but (so far) none have come close to Racing Secrets [Exposed]. The book is a comprehensive guide to laying on the exchanges and it literally covers all aspects of racing, but in particular it highlights horses that are likely to lose. Better yet, the system concentrates on favourites, keeping liabilities to a minimum and increasing your profits.

Racing Secrets [Exposed] comes in PDF format and is a full 80 pages of information. The first two or three chapters deal with the basics and can be useful to even the most seasoned of punters. Then we get into the system itself and, without giving anything away, it details a series of ‘Primary Warning Signs’ signs we should be looking out for in the hunt for vulnerable favourites. Once we have a list of potentials, it then goes on to describe ‘Secondary Warning Signs’ that will help build an even stronger case for laying a selection and narrowing down the primary list.

I must point out though that this is not a system for those looking to spend less than 10 minutes finding their picks for the day. It does require some effort from the user and I’d suggest that it might take around 30 – 45 minutes per day, however, for the strength of selections that you are giving yourself I’d say that it’s definitely time well spent.

This is one of the few systems that I still use regularly and will continue to use for the foreseeable future. Indeed, I consider Racing Secrets [Exposed] to be an investment system rather than a gambling system and if you’re serious about laying then I’d highly recommend it.

I managed to get a bet on in the afternoon and was successful, unfortunately, it wasn’t the same scenario this evening. I did get a bet on but it was unsuccessful, however, having checked back through the results we were enjoying a run of 30 winning lays so I can’t have any real complaints – indeed that is a very impressive run!

17:20 Ludl – Lady Samantha – Lost @ 9.8
20:20 Kemp – Rebellious Spirit – WON @ 9

Total P/L = £229.90
Bank = £2229.90
