The Upper Hand System Review

Welcome to our review of The Upper Hand

The Upper Hand is a laying service from Ken Emery: a 49 year old Lancastrian. Ken emails the selections out to his subscribers on a daily basis, so all you need to do is lay them!
The system was launched in January 2010 and by the end of May 2011 had not had a single losing month: 15 consecutive profitable months.
It has since had 2 losing months: June 2011 (-2.30 points) and September 2011 (-0.83 points).
The Upper Hand also claims to have made 484.59 points profit in that time which is very impressive.

It only lays to a max of 18.0 Betfair prices. Most horses it lays are a lot lower in price than the max price and the average losing price is actually less than 4/1.
The cost of the Upper Hand service is £40 per month at the time this review was put into motion.

This review will run for a minimum of 60 days and we will be declaring our results at £10 per point, based on Betfair SP less an assumed 5% commission rate.

The Upper Hand Day 45: 30/11/11

Sadly this review has ended suddenly as Ken Emery has decided to call it a day on this service in its present format.

84.67% for a laying system is a pretty good strike rate. However in laying odds up to 18.50 it only needs 2 or 3 high odds losers in a bad run to put the system in a huge debit as was the case in this review on Days 16, 17 and 18. From then on it became an almost impossible task to recover and by Day 37 it was -49.75 points at its highest loss. It then went on a run of 11 consecutive winners without any losers for the next 8 days, although there were far fewer selections on this period.

There is nothing more to add other than to wish Ken Emery every success in the future and perhaps we may once again have the opportunity to review his re-formatted system

Just wanted to point out that there may be an error in records. On November 5th, the second horse was recorded as lost at BSP 18.0, however the P/L only shows a loss of $17.00(excuse the dollar sign, from Canada and can’t make the pound symbol). That would make a 15.3 point difference.
