Lay Pro 88

When you come across a horse racing system that boasts a profit of £86,676 in the space of 11 months it certainly grabs your attention, but I’m sure we’ve all fallen into the “too good to be true” trap before (some of us more than once!), so before you start salivating about the instant wealth that’s about to be thrust upon you, it pays to find out the facts before you part with your cash.

When we first came across a new system called Lay Pro 88 this is exactly what we were thinking. The numbers look good, but could they really be trusted? So we set about finding out for ourselves and tested the system for the purposes of this website for the whole month of February. The results, as I’m sure you’ll agree, are certainly very interesting.

This is what we said about Lay Pro 88 prior to starting the test…

Lay Pro 88 is, as the name suggests, a laying system with an advertised strike rate of 88%. The system itself is very simple to operate and has a minimal set of rules to follow to find each selection. The downside of the system is that it must be operated on the live market which means either sitting by your PC all day or employing a bot to do the work on your behalf.

The author suggests that Lay Pro 88 will profit with level stakes, however, he does include a staking plan that appears, on the face of it, will increase profits dramatically without placing too much strain on the bank balance, although it may be a little too aggressive for those of a nervous disposition. If adopting this staking plan, the author suggests a betting bank of 200 units to ensure safety during the inevitable losing run’s.

For the test, I will be operating the system manually which will allow me to get a good feel for it, rather than relying, immediately anyway, on a bot and I will also use the staking plan that accompanies the system. My starting bank will be £2000 giving me a base stake of £10.

Every day throughout February my partner Craig then posted updates after racing with his bets for the day (you can read right through them in the System Testing section of our website) and at the end of the testing period he posted this final review…

The month has drawn to a close for the test of Lay Pro 88, and it’s been a mighty impressive month. I’ve netted almost 50 points profit in four weeks and that includes taking Betfairs commission into consideration. That is a very impressive return and one that not many systems can provide you with.

There weren’t really any low points during this test and at no point did we dip into the bank. Obviously there were losing bets but the lack of them, coupled with the strength of the staking plan ensured that we finished well in profit for the month. The strike rate for the month was 89.5% and the odds remain reasonable throughout, never laying at higher than 7.5 on the exchanges.

I was quite hopeful for this system prior to the start of the test, as it is mainly based on a racing statistic that has been borne out for many years, however, I did have my reservations that the staking plan may be too aggressive and could actually do some damage to the bank. I am happy to say I was completely wrong, and the staking plan really does compliment the system and the strength of the selections.

I have been trying to think of a negative to say about the system, to try and level this review out, and the only one I can really come up with is that it is another live market system, which means being around during the day to place the bets. I’m sure it could be automated, and even Grey Horse Bot could be used for the selections, however, this would not allow you to use the staking plan, therefore a bot that could be excel linked would be more beneficial.

So, would I recommend Lay Pro 88 – with 50 points profit bagged this month there’s no way I could do anything other than highly recommend it! Go grab your copy now!

Now I don’t know about you, but I’m firmly of the view that 50 points profit in a single month is a damn impressive return for any system. What made this particular one even more appealing was the fact that it was steadily growing the bank, with very few nervous moments, all month.

When we originally came up with the idea for this website it was our intention to “out” the systems and services that didn’t come up to scratch, but in our first month we’ve tested three systems that have all produced excellent profits and backtested a fourth that looks very solid too. I’m sure we’ll come across a few “duds” in the future, but it’s been quite the opposite this month.

So it’s safe to say that Lay Pro 88 is another we’ll happily add to the “recommended” list ;-)

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

Some nice results in February lads. Are you going to be starting new tests now that we’re into March? Cheers, Jim.

  3. Paul says:

Yes we will Jim. We’ll be starting a few new ones and adding them to the System Testing section of the website over the course of today and tomorrow.

  4. Paul says:

We added another four new services this week Jim. Two more systems and two advisory type services, for a little change. Both are good ones that we’d have been happy to recommend without even publishing a monthly review, but we thought we’d do it anyway to give everyone a better idea of how they work.

  5. Blair says:

I bought LayPRO88 last week based on your months test results and so far I have had 11 bets and all 11 have lost. Im only using small stakes (£2) and going to try to build my bank up slowly.
Anyway Id just like to say thanks for the honest review because its something Id looked at before but thought it sounded too good to be true so thanks.

  6. Craig says:

Glad I could be of service Blair :)

That’s exactly why OBE was set up, to test out the often wild claims made by many a betting and tipping site, and to help you make a more informed decision as to what works and what doesn’t.

Rest assured we will be doing our utmost to continue to uncover the good and the bad and bring it straight to your PC screen :)

How does this sytem compare with Betalay.

    Thanks

    Andy

  8. Craig says:

    Andy,

Its very similar to Betalay, exactly the same idea but with different odds and an extra rule in there. It’s a bit more selective than Betalay and you can expect an average of maybe five bets a day.

Personally, I prefer this one to Betalay, but Paul swears by Betalay – each to their own :)

Thanks for your comment. The link to the system testing for this does not work. Any ideas why?

  10. Craig says:

I’ve just tried the links above Andy and they’re all working on my PC so I’m not sure what the problem might be. Maybe try refreshing the page or clearing out your cookies and stuff. If that doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

  11. Anis Suterwalla says:

Any reason why 2007 hasn’t been updated by the Laypro88 people? Could that suggest the system may not be working as advertised?

  12. Craig says:

I honestly couldn’t tell you why they’ve not updated the results Anis, I’m sure if you dropped them a line they’d be happy to help.

I am having a bad May month with Lay Pro 88, and yesterday have 3 loses from 10 bets.
Any other person have the same experience?

  14. LF says:

    @ Antonio

Laypro88 appears to be going through a bad patch right now. I had two consecutive winning horses yesterday, and three winners from the last 12 bets.

I use a slightly modified Laypro selection criteria where I do not lay the selection if it is obvious from the odds graph that they are a big steamer. I may miss a selection here and there but I feel that security of the bank and avoiding winners are the primary concerns when using the recommended staking plan.

  15. Antonio says:

    Hi LF
Avoiding the big steamers seem a good idea. What is your %SR with your system? Are you betting only the english races or IRE also?

  16. LF says:

    Heya Antonio,

I am using the Irish races as well as the UK races. The book has an example of the system being used at an Irish race so I assumed that it would be OK.

Basically my rule is to not lay the steamers. If a horse is beaten in to the Laypro odds range from 10 or 12 and is still dropping, then I don’t touch it! What often happens when the odds of one horse are decreasing in a big way the others are drifting, so if you wait a few seconds the horse odds crossover and you can find yourself with a perfectly valid Laypro selection that has the advantage of drifting out!

My SR since I restarted after a horrific patch in April is 88.5%. If you include my April results up to the present day the SR is just 84.7%. Why was April so bad? My first day using this system I was in the red, the second day had two consecutive winning horses, and I had a run of three consecutive winning horses in my first two weeks.

  17. LF says:

Talk about a purple patch! Hope you’re still sticking in there Antonio!

My last 24 lays have yielded 6 winners. Couple that with the staking plan and I’m starting to feel a little uneasy because it will only take about 5 Laypro horses that win close together to wipe out my bank!

On the positive side, we are about due for a long sequence of winners for us, and this will more than compensate for this down patch.

  18. Vman says:

    LF,

How have you got on recently? I encountered 7 losing bets out of 12 and needless to say and a detrimental impact on my bank!

  19. LF says:

    Hello Vman,

I was horrified by the continuing increases of my stakes and lay liabilities, and I was compelled to suspend using Laypro88 a bit over a week ago. I had no choice – I had to do this to ensure that I would have sufficient bankroll to operate other systems that I run as well.

I have heard of this colossal bank-busting run of Laypro88 from another friend as well. He dryly suggested using it as a backing system to make a fortune.

I believe in the underlying stats of Laypro88, and that it is long-term profitable, but I must say I have had very limited success with it so far.

  20. Callum says:

Hi LF and Vman. I have been using LayPro88 for a while now and have had similar results to both of you. What I did a few months back was adapt the staking plan a bit as I could see that it might be a bit too aggressive.

What I have done is use the staking plan from Lay Formula. My profit has probably been a bit lower than yours during the good runs but I’m sure my liability has been MUCH lower than yours when on a bad run.

    Regards,

    Callum

  21. Vman says:

I certainly will not be giving up on it. Month on month it has been returning a profit with the exception of the last month. Since September, I’m up over 500 points and if it hadn’t been for the poor week last week, it would be much higher.

I think the staking plan is feasible given the strike rate but you just need to limit how high your stakes go. I would suggest no higher than 5 times you orginal bet size.

I can only assume the past couple of weeks have been a blip in what has otherwise been a very successful system to date which is why I’m not giving up on it… (And the fact that I have had 25 winning bets and 1 losing bet in the last 5 days!)

  22. Callum says:

Vman that is a very interesting strategy and one that I might adopt myself, thanks for the idea.

  23. laypro88 says:

what is your opinion of laypro88 now its been running over 12 months

  24. Craig says:

I couldn’t give you a definitive answer as I’ve not been able to follow it religiously but I think it’s a sound system that should deliver consistent profits.

Vman’s comments earlier suggest it’s still working well. Taking 500 points in less than a year is pretty damn impressive in my book :)

  25. pope says:

have you heard or seen of xft sniper its a laying system

  26. Craig says:

@Pope – I can’t say I’ve heard of it before, but a quick Google search told me all I needed to know!

  27. russell says:

what did you think about it.

  28. Wonni says:

Question to the staking plan. My profit is lower with the staking plan. I don´t know, what´s my problem. Should I take the loosers to the next day ? I begin the next day with 0.00 …Hope you can help me…

  29. mason says:

i rang xft sniper during the week and had a talk them
there system works as a weight of money system and chooses the horse dog to lay that has the least amount of money on it i think i honestly cant remeber what he said but thats it in a nutshell

you wont be back the favouite price are from 3 upto 100 as your bets
the other thing is that these guys dont hold currrent records so u wont get a feel on turnover wise

the price for the software over here is $8900
then when you win $55000 you pay them an extra $5000 is effectively its $14000
    all up

  30. John says:

STAY AWAY FROM XFT SNIPER – I have had it for 7 months now, and i have done nothing but lose money. I paid $8900 for the software and put $3500 in the sytem to work with, after 7 months i am now down to $1800. I had it up to $6000 at one poit but it just keeps loosing! DO NOT BUY!

  31. gordon says:

referring to john on 10/1/09. i was about to purchase sniper but have second thoughts after reading your remarks. did you use the programme as instructed in the online demo. it seems so positive using small $40. lays. tell me more.

  32. John says:

    Hey Gordon

I have tried the software the way they want you to use it and it fails, It wins about 12 races but then it will looses one at say 20-25 to 1 so you actually loose money, not even break even. I have tried it every which way and it just will not make a profit. Of course there is no money back garantee. The guy who owns it Craig Duffy I have found out has been busted for scams before. In fact if I had backed every horse that XFT sniper had told me to lay, i would have made some money buy now, I think I might actually try that, seeeing as I cant get a cent back for this failing rip off software scam.

  33. gordon says:

hi john, thanks a lot. decided to keep my money after your advice. thanks again. gordon.
