Betting Systems & Strategies Forum

In this section of Online Betting Exposed you can ask questions about the betting systems and services we review, discuss how they work and even post your own ideas and suggestions for maximizing your profits from them.

Here are a few simple guidelines to follow:

1. When discussing betting systems please try your best not to give too many of the system rules away as this is obviously a public forum. It’s absolutely fine to discuss different aspects of the systems, but if you go into too much detail we may have to edit your comments.

2. Please refrain from posting negative comments about any system or service that may be deemed slanderous by the vendor, unless you have good reason to do so. If you wish to report a vendor for operating illegally or unethically please contact us and we’ll look into it for you.

3. As always, we encourage you to participate on every area of our website, but you should note that all comments are moderated and for the good of everyone who visits we simply can’t tolerate bad language, or any other kind of abusive behaviour, so please act responsibly.

And finally, we’ve set up this section so that you’ve got a handy place to come to for chatting about anything betting related that doesn’t quite slot into any other category, so please don’t let this stop you from commenting on the individual reviews we’ve posted in other sections as that’s what they’re there for and your feedback is always more than welcome.

    @Rod,
    Don’t forget the 71 pages of the 72 page manual explaining how to place a bet on Betfair. Plus what about all of those free bonuses. If this system doesn’t work then surely one of those must? Plus a lot of those systems have got ‘Pro’ in the title so they must be good. I’m almost wetting myself with excitement. I can’t wait until tomorrow.

    Got to sign off as I can hear Jeff coming back.

    re Richard stableincome – I wouldn’t get too excited mate — their criteria is very similar to betalay except I believe it’s laying a different selection.Can’t remember where I read that it’s a load of old bollocks like so many other systems out there.Their results are at s.p and don’t factor commision .

    @Craig,
    Not again.!!!!!!!!! I missed the steamer & leap year winner from last night, but somehow always manage to be around for the losers. The perfect end to a perfect day.!!! PP & TTS gave me a good kicking today. It’s some sort of plot.

  12. Craig says:

    @Jeff – This is really beginning to cheese me off! I missed last nights too cos I had not long got in and didn’t double check the odds. I have to confess to getting more than a little frustrated with this one!!!

  13. datamonkey says:

    @ Scott & all,

    The big ‘free’ giveaway you have pasted there ensures that every vendor on that list gets your email to blast you with affiliate products for the rest of your life.

    People do yourself a favour and forget it. Nothing is for free and this is the most certain and obvious internet marketing crap I’ve ever heard. Give them your email and they will collectively email you with other crap for ever!

    Reading a few names on that list makes me cringe. Graham Lawrie, Greame Murray and Steve Davidson make such a great living from people who don’t know better, they churn either systems or affiliate blogs or both and are only in it for your buck.

    Avoid like the plague or take up their offer and spend the next few hours un-subscribing from their autoresponders….

  14. Jon says:

    Richard
    They quote all there lays to sp, that is more than enough to forget about it

  20. Marc says:

    @ Craig, Salmon or trout?

    It’s not over yet today but it was a wise decision to go fish’n -we top three dutch boys would have needed more than a finger in the dyke to stop the deluge of outsiders today!

    Are you Psychic Craig?

    Question: Could it be that some days the handicappers treat themselves? ie. shorten the SP on the wrong horses for a laugh ? (Maybe I’m too cynical there)

  21. anwar says:

    @ richard,

    Please can you let me know what systems you are using as you say you have come out with a profit for the month of the october.

    I have had an atrocious month. Thinking of taking October and April off, too much hassle.

    Thanx
    Anwar

  22. Jeff & the Mutt says:

    @richard,
    If I were you I’d look up the results of Lay The Place, Curse of the Handicapper, Ahead of the Field( withdrawn) and 2 of the 3 sections of Stat Attack before I laid my money down for Dodgy Favorites.

    ….and more!

  24. Craig says:

    @Ricky – Thanks for the good luck, didn’t work tho

    @Marc – It was none of the above…I barely managed to catch a cold! All I caught was a measly tiny cod that had to go straight back. My 7 year old caught one too, and a crab! Pesky fish :) As for being psychic…not quite but I often find Saturdays are hard days in the office and best spent doing summit else. Sounds like I was wise today (although I did have a few footie wagers that haven’t paid off…3 still to go though so everything crossed!)

  25. Jeff & the Mutt says:

    @Craig,
    You don’t wanna hear this but a clean sheet for PP today + TTS looped upwards again with a 16.00 biggy (14/1 SP). Just to add to your misery all of this wind & rain we’ve got down here. Guess what? It’s heading your way.!!!

    Did your dutching idea come unstuck?

  28. Craig says:

  30. anwar says:

    @ Marc

    I just wanted to let you know that the system is coming on really nice. Frustating sometimes,, as the liabilities are too high, but overall, one race normally comes under the liability which is enough to give us our 100 pounds for the day.

    Have you managed to add anything onto it to make it even more lethal?

    Thanx
    Anwar

  31. richard says:

    anwar,i think i have just been lucky mate,cant say that i follow any special systems,just mainly been laying horses not 2 win and sometimes not to place and usually stoping when i am in front on the day,as i am not a greedy person,£20 or £30 a day is fine for me,but knowing me i usually have a brainstorm every couple of months and lose it all back,otherwise i would probably be rich by now,best wishes,richard

  33. Jeff & the Mutt says:

    @Craig,
    Worst bet of yesterday. I booked you to win the fishing competition with your son & the Mutt backed you for a Plaice, so neither of us won.!!!!

  34. TonyT says:

    Oh my COD…Jeff I geddit, a plaice, you’re a SLIPPERY one. I think we HADDOCK enough of these fishy jokes.

  35. TonyT says:

    @Paul Fowlie

    Why not post your selections here for a month, or let us try for a month without commitment first or buying the system. That way we can test it for ourselves and obviously you will get a lot more people buying if the trial shows a decent profit to level stakes. I for one will not be buying anymore or paying for tipping until I personally have made a profit on a trial basis. I have bought too many systems and tipsters to be throwing more money away.

  36. Rod says:

    @John Kerr – That’s worth taking a trip to Riga for !!!! Had my pills !!

  37. Marc in Exile says:

    @ Anwar

    No, but Acelays is brill of course.

    At first I thought the tips boxes on RP might add to it. Not really, apparently. (Although a week is hardly confirmatory proof) Also I thought maybe a lower threshold of your 60-70% favs would do it -say 4 favs out of 10 and not always ten years of history, to get more bets in. But again, not after yesterdays debacle!!
    I think your system sounds better-going for fewer than more
    Bon chance with it-interesting to hear progress.

  38. Jeff & the Mutt says:

    @Marc in exile,
    After fiddling around with Acelays for about a month paper-trading I’ve restarted a test using default & custom settings with a max filter of 6.00 BF for the last 2 weeks. Flat & AW only.
    Results are;
    default +0.27 (5W/2L)
    default Naps (-15 score) +0.95 (1W/0L)
    Custom +0.235 (8W/3L)
    Custom Naps (-15 score) -2.00 (1W/1L)
    All selections done in the morning. Any selections that mysteriously appear during racing as they occasionaly do due to n/runners etc ignored.
    Early days yet, but I do like it. Hopefully Glen will sort out the N.Hunt settings then we can really rev it up.

  39. Jeff & the Mutt says:

    @Tony T,
    Excellent suggestion, let’s face it what’s to lose. The only concern for the system seller would be that we might work out the system from the selections, but I for one would quite happily pay £75 for a system that I’d paper-traded for a month successfully. Racing systems are unlike any other product, you can’t try before you buy. I wonder why!!!

    I keep being offered (“to a limited circle of clients”) a golf programme for £4,000!!!! Being expensive it’s resonable to think it must work at that price, the reported results are impressive. After the 5th e-mail (remember this offer is only open only to a few and will end soon forever!!!) I made exactly the same offer as you have just done. Send me the selections, I’ll paper-trade them for a month & if they show a decent profit I’ll pay £4k, if not I’ll walk away and neither of us has lost anything. My offer wasn’t taken up.

    The usual refrain is “we offer a moneyback guarantee” knowing that most punters won’t take it up. Sellers & tipsters should take advantage of sites like OBE as a successfull system trial would only be to their advantage. Why don’t they take up that opportunity???

    I’ll let you make up your own mind on that one.

  40. richard says:

    TONY T,
    well put mate,maybe paul fowlie will take your advice,then again!
    that’s what we need a live test,we could all post results of what happened in the past,we had no proof that these results are correct,there are some people on OBE that use dodgy favs,how do their results compare to mr fowlie’s.
    still at least with this system he says the resultsare quoted at betfair SP,with commission taken out,so fair play paul,lets just hope the results are not just plucked out of thin air,sorry to sound so negative,best wishes richard

  41. Marc in Exile says:

    @Jeff and the Mutt

    Yes Acelays is user-friendly (even idiot -proof if I can operate it). I liked it for the instant
    fav histories it gives. I’ll have to tweak it a bit more and keep reading Glen’s good info too.

    Cheers for those settings

  42. TonyT says:

    Dodgey Favs

    Yes if he gives us all a trial then theres definitely no differences in the results, only the odds each of us got on. If its mostly favs then the differences shouldn’t be that big. We may work out the selection process from the picks but if it works and makes me a decent return I would be willing to buy the system outright rather than second guess the system. If it really works and the selection takes a bit of work I would even be willing to pay him the £10 a month to send me the picks then we definitely would have the same results!

    So come on Paul. what say you. You have nothing to lose but a LOT to gain. If Dodgey favs IS your best system, you may even make a lot of loyal followers for life.

  43. Chris says:

    If paul fowlie is posting his results at betfair sp then that means that we should make more profit than the results if followed correctly as the betfair sp is always much higher, correct?

  44. john kerr says:

    @Tony T
    What excellent ideas for Mr Fowlie to conjure with. He must be scratching his head thinking ‘Christ they’re not as daft as I thought’ !

  45. Jeff & the Mutt says:

    @Chris,
    I think he means at betfair odds not betfair SP. It appears to be a laying system so BF SP would not be a good idea. The critisism from the guys & gals on here has always been that too many system sellers quote past results to SP not BF exchange prices at the off. To be fair to Paul Fowlie he’s listened to that critisism on here and acted on it. A shame more vendors don’t follow his lead. Let’s face it there’s no better place to prove yourself than on a forum if you want to drum up business.

    OBE Power. Rock on..

  46. davidsteel says:

    Guys ,

    I think thats a great idea even if Paul only placed his selections on here for a week.

    He might say that from his postings you might be able to work out his selections so you won’t need to purchase the system …who knows..

  47. Marc in Gaul says:

    @David

    Well done- good going!

  48. davidsteel says:

    HI Marc,

    Hope your well..

  49. Gary says:

    David,
    keep it going, every one has bad days, you are still in front, so keep pickin and stickin em here.

  50. davidsteel says:

    Gary,

    Thanks, no worries on the score of keep pickin em i know at the end of the day i’ll be happy..

    Although , its difficult to me to post on here most days..
