I think the weather was the only winner this last week or so, as the snow and ice put paid to most people’s betting activities. It certainly had an adverse effect on the OBE Betting System Reviews. Six of our eight current reviews managed to see some action this week, but I’m guessing that most wished they hadn’t bothered, as five of them went on to record a loss. (No advice given by either GAFFA Tips nor Value Backing this week)

In fact, the only profit we found anywhere this week came from VB Extra, who managed to find a 6/1 winner amongst their three bets this week and thus returned some £40 better off.

Elsewhere it was a grim battle against the elements, as the remaining five services lost some £460 between them with the bulk of the damage being incurred by The Racing Angle (-£123) and Betting Pros (-£234). In all honesty, this came as little/no surprise as they have both struggled since day 1, as our overview will show shortly.

So, here’s the latest OBE Betting System Reviews league table:

Although they made a loss this week, Crossbow remain well clear at the top: in fact their loss was the lowest (just £5!), so in reality they extended their lead over Place Bet Profits, who still sit in a good position despite losing £40 in the last few days. Our top three is completed by the occasional Value Backing service: this one has only placed bets on six occasions, but stand some £110 in profit: ideal if you’re not wanting a flurry of action every day.

The bottom end of the table is pretty grim reading, with the three worst performers currently holding a combined deficit of over £1525. All three of Betting Pros, GAFFA Tips and The Racing Angle have performed consistently poorly, although the vendors at Gaffa Tips contest the level of their losses, which I’m currently looking into. We do try to be fair here at OBE!

Despite it not being the best of weeks, I still like both Crossbow and Place Bet Profits very much and I think you’d do well to keep your eye on them. One service that I do recommend an instant purchase of, though, is the Paul Fowlie Speed Ratings (PFSR), which offers excellent advice on horses to back and also some to lay. I know I emailed you about this last weekend, but this one really does work!
