Hitting the target…

Betting System Reviews Update: 16/01/13

Welcome to your weekly roundup of the
OBE Betting System Reviews.

The overall picture for the OBE Betting System Reviews was pretty good this week, as six services managed to record a combined profit of over £190 since my last update. As always, there were winners and losers, but both sides of the equation had a familiar balance to them.

On each side of the profit/loss divide, there was one small figure, a medium sised one and a large one, as you’ll now see.

Three services lost £427.22 between them: Betting Pros lost £7.62, whilst VB Extra lost £90 and the big loss came from The Racing Angle with a deficit of £329.60.

This pattern was repeated with the three profitable services, which combined to make a £619.12 gain over the week. The small gain was made by Place Bet Profits, whose steady bank building received another boost of £16.27, whilst Value Backing made £60 from just the one bet: a nice 6/1 winner. The huge profit of £542.85 was recorded by Crossbow / Longbow who were hitting the target in a big way. (No more archery puns, I promise!)

In fact that £542.85 doesn’t tell the full story. One of their winning bets was an each way bet at advised odds of 54/1 to win and 8/1 to place on Betfair, but the actual Betfair SP was returned at 179/1 for the win and 29/1 for a place. It’s easy to be wise after the event, but placing those bets at Betfair SP would have increased the profit by another £1400 or so from just one bet. Nevertheless, it shows the quality of that advice.

So, here’s the latest OBE Betting System Reviews league table:

Crossbow / Longbow £441.05 (at day 45)
Place Bet Profits £229.31 (at day 36)
Value Backing £110.00 (at day 6)
Scoring for Profit £9.50 (at day 3)
VB Extra -£205.00 (at day 39)
Betting Pros -£207.68 (at day 33)
The Racing Angle -£447.84 (at day 42)
GAFFA Tips -£513.44 (at day 53)

It’s no surprise to see the Crossbow service arrowing (sorry! ) to the top of the tree after this week’s spectacular result, just as it’s not a shock to find The Racing Angle now languishing in a perilous position: such is the symmetry of this week’s results. Place Bet Profits continue to go from strength to strength, whilst Betting Pros are having a shocking time of it at present: backing football teams at very short prices in mid-winter is never advisable in my opinion, but time will tell, I suppose.

If I were considering taking out a subscription to a racing service, I’d be looking no further than our top two: it would all depend on how you like your action!
Crossbow / Longbow comes from a previously successful author (Allan Moore is the man behind PAWS) and specialises in longer priced E/W bets. This has a lower strike rate, but is more than capable of massive wins, as seen this week.
Whereas Place Bet Profits focuses on the much shorter-priced horses in the place market. It has a much higher strike rate of around 85% and whilst the returns are much smaller, there’s more regularity to the payouts.

Personally, I’d say both Crossbow and Place Bet Profits: I use both and I’m more than happy with them.

For further information on either of those two or indeed, any of the services we’re covering, simply click on their name anywhere on this page or drop me a line at my email address [email protected], I’d love to hear from you!

Have a great week,

Chris and the OBE Betting System Reviews team
