Lay Bettor System Review

Lay Bettor System Review

The Lay Bettor System is, as the name suggests, a system that lays horses to lose. The system was created by Adam Smith, a graduate accountant from South Wales and is based, according to the author, purely on mathematics. He claims to increase his betting bank by an average of 45% per month ie 9pts per month from a 20pt betting bank.

Lay Bettor is a subscription service costing £49.95 per month and subscribers receive a daily email 7 days per week with the Lay Bettor selections and they have exclusive access to an online members area. Lay Bettor also offer a 60 day money back guarantee.

The selections are for the UK market and are the result of 12 months research and testing, followed by proofed results since January 2010. The recommended stakes are level points staking with no recovery procedure. Lay Bettor declare their own results to a £50 stake.

We shall be trialling the service for 45 days, using a £10 level stake from a notional £1000 bank. Lay Bettor Results to be declared at Betfair SP less 5% commission.

Lay Bettor System – Days 1 – 5, 29/06/11- 3/07/2011

Lay Bettor Day 1 – A good start with 7 selections losing (winning bets for us) and a profit of   + £66.50

One of the selections was not listed as being in it’s scheduled race. One selection left out as being over the acceptable odds.

Lay Bettor Day 2 – Six winners, one losing bet                          -£ 17.00

Lay Bettor Day 3 – Ten winners, two losers, one over the odds                +£22.00

Lay Bettor Day 4 – Ten winners, three losers, two over the odds             -£67.00

Lay Bettor Day 5 – Four winners, one loser                                                       -£36.00

Total profit/loss                           -£31.50

Bank                                               £968.50

Lay Bettor System – Day 6,  4/07/2011

Five winners and two losers, one of which was at a SP of 12/1                 -£115.5

Total profit/loss                      -£147.00

Bank                                               £853.00

Lay Bettor System – Day 7,  5/07/2011

A good recovery today, Twelve winners                +£114

Total profit/loss                      -£33.00

Bank                                               £967.00

Lay Bettor System – Days 8-11,  6-9/07/2011

Seven winners, 55 losers                -£192.66

The bank actually got to £1091 before three winners came through, one at 22.94, when the industry SP was only 11.  I’m also running a calculation for laying to a liability of £50 per selection. Using this method, the bank would stand at £1000 after reaching a high of £1140.

Total profit/loss                      -£235.16

Bank                                               £764.84

Lay Bettor System – Days 12-14,  10-12/07/2011

Two winners, twelve losers           -£5.70

Total profit/loss                      -£240.86

Bank                                               £759.14

Laying to a liability of £50, the bank stands incredibly at £1405.30, but that is distorted by one selection that  had a BSP of 1.12, lost and so resulted in a win to us of some £395.83. If we take out this result, the bank stands at £1009.47. But maybe we should award some credit to this lay, since it did lose, but we don’t want the results too distorted by this one result. I’ll credit it with a SP of 2.00, and a win to us of £50. So, our running bank would now stand at £1059.47. That’s not to say that laying to a liability is a better way to go. We can see how it compares over the course of the trial.

Lay Bettor System – Days 15-20,  13-18/07/2011

Quite a bad run has pushed us in to the red.

Fifteen winners, Fifty-eight  losers           -£350.80

Total profit/loss                      -£591.66

Bank                                              £408.34

The system vendor does however recommend a 1% stake, so since we started with a £1000 bank we’re still  in business.

For comparison, betting to a liability of £50, the Lay Bettor bank stands at £748.88.

Lay Bettor System – Day 21,  19/07/2011

Two  losers          +£19

Total profit/loss                      -£572.66

Bank                                              £427.34

Lay Bettor System – Day 22, 20/07/2011

One winner, Five   losers          -£24.20

Total profit/loss                      -£596.86

Bank                                               £403.14

Lay Bettor System – Day 23, 21/07/2011

Four winners, Five   losers          -£164.00

Total profit/loss                      -£760.86

Bank                                               £239.14

Starting to look like a good win bet system!

Lay Bettor System – Day 24, 22/07/2011

No selections posted today, and no notifications..

Total profit/loss                      -£760.86

AFTER JUST 5 PROFITABLE DAYS FROM 24, THE SYSTEM AUTHOR ADAM SMITH SUDDENLY STOPPED SENDING OUT THE SELECTIONS, JUST AS HE DID WITH IT PAYS TO LAY!

LAY BETTOR LOST 76% OF ITS STARTING BANK IN JUST 24 DAYS, IT PAYS TO LAY LOST 87% OF ITS BANK IN 14 DAYS, DESPITE HAVING THE SELECTION PROCEDURE TWEAKED!

ON THIS BASIS: OBE LABEL BOTH OF ADAM SMITH’S LAYING SYSTEMS AS HAVING FAILED.
